In reply to: After upgrading to 2.9.2 wp-admin page errorHi MZ,
Didn’t see your note. Don’t know what I did but now v3.0 has an error after I automatically updated it. So this was a good check to remind me that manually updating using the long method might sort it.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: After upgrading to 2.9.2 wp-admin page errorAfter 6hrs work it’s running again.
Created my own php files and found they worked so decided it must be the download.
Did the more detailed instructions, downloaded, extracted and uploaded it again. Amazingly it worked.
Thanks to myself, OK then, be like that.

In reply to: After upgrading to 2.9.2 wp-admin page errorI meant to add that if I put readme.html in the address bar it comes up. Then click update to 2.9.2 it says it’s already at 2.9.2. So it must be detecting something.
I’ve also cleaned out my cache and tried different browsers and PC’s.

In reply to: After upgrading to 2.9.2 wp-admin page errorUploaded 2.9.2 manually twice. Spoken to the host company. They said that the PHP files aren’t working but the .txt and .html ones are.
I’ve uploaded 2.9.2 to another blog with the same provider so am assuming it’s something to do with WordPress.

In reply to: Images not showing in post after being uploaded.Tried permissions and all that but the images only appear as outlines on my dashboard as well.
So easy way out is to just link to the website the blog is part of.
I’m sure this isn’t the correct solution though.

In reply to: Images not showing in post after being uploaded.Yes, I’ve found WordPress intuitive except for this. I’ve uploaded the images and can see them in Explorer but it says access forbidden if I click on the uploaded post photo outline.

In reply to: Automatic Upgrade with 2.7.1 — problemThanks Otto42. I did a back up. It will be interesting if I have to use it.
Still not updated though and as I’m so low on the learning curve there is other stuff I’d rather do.

In reply to: Automatic Upgrade with 2.7.1 — problemMy automatic update didn’t work, I’ve lost the error message.
I’m getting lazy, having only been a user for 2 weeks I’m having to read about updating.
The backup of the database. Mines at an ISP and so presumably it can’t be backed up. Gotta say I didn’t think of that, so I’m tied to my host now?
Setting up was easy though and I’m very pleased with it.
