In reply to: Gallery/album plugin to import from phpBBHi @psykro
Thanks for that – even if it just confirmed that there isn’t a ready-made solution to my problem.
I’ll go away & think what best to do next
Thanks again
PeteHi @webtoffee
Thank you! I thought it must be a caching issue, but thought clearing the server cache was enough; I was wrong, a Litespeed plugin on the site also needed clearing. Problem solved, new cookie notice in place, complete with edits. Brilliant.
5 star review to follow . . .

Update 2
It seems as though I only get the correct settings if I view the site while logged in to WordPress; I thought everything was working OK, and the notice was appearing as shown here – but when I tried a couple of different computers, and asked another user, it was still showing the notice with the CCPA option. Which makes me wonder where it’s picking up that setting from – when I deleted it, I looked in cPanel File Manager, and there was no plugin folder left to contain any settings.
Turning the message off doesn’t seem to affect it, nor disabling the plugin, so I’ve deleted it again.
Update – I have been ‘playing’ with the plugin on a staging site, test.rileyrmclub.org.uk. There, changes to settings are having an effect, but strangely if I check the same site in a Private Browsing window I still get the default settings.
I haven’t dared enable the CCPA option on that site . . .Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Error message when updating any plugin – yet update worksHi @vijayhardaha – thanks again, but that doesn’t seem to cover it. Internet connectivity is fine, and there are no problems with REST API.
The strange thing with this is that the updates are not in fact failing, despite the error; I was hoping that this aspect of the issue might point the way to the cause.
Thanks again

In reply to: Error message when updating any plugin – yet update worksHi @vijayhardaha – many thanks for your reply. I had a look in the error log – there have only been three entries this year, the last one this morning saying:
PHP Warning: openssl_decrypt(): IV passed is only 12 bytes long, cipher expects an IV of precisely 16 bytes, padding with \0 in /home/acefdbfs/public_html/wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/inc/class-sb-instagram-data-encryption.php on line 100However, since I get the update ‘error’ every time I update a plugin, & there don’t appear to be any other connectivity issues, I’m not sure it’s that.
Oh, good grief – I don’t know how I missed the email alert about this.
Many thanks for the helpful response; I had seen that resource, but assumed that for our purposes the url would have to be external as in https:// etc etc. Obviously not.
Thanks again

In reply to: [WP Smart Export (Free)] Leading zerosHi @sebet
That’s great, thank you. I’ll experiment with setting the value of N to 0, since I can’t predict where a space will need to occur in a phone number as entered by people in different countries etc, so I just need to ensure the whole cell gets treated as text.

In reply to: [WP Smart Export (Free)] Premium pricingAll done. Thank you.
In fact, I had to rename the premium folder to allow me to re-install that version, after I’d de-activated the free one.
Maybe include the bit about deactivation in the instructions email for the benefit of idiots like me?
All the best

In reply to: [WP Smart Export (Free)] Premium pricingHi again
Ooops! I was joking, but when activating the Pro version I get:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wse_fs() (previously declared in *****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-smart-export/wp-smart-export.php:21) in *****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-smart-export-premium/wp-smart-export.php on line 22
I would just uninstall & start from scratch but I spent a while setting up a profile with the free version & I’d rather not lose that.
Cheers

In reply to: [WP Smart Export (Free)] Premium pricingHi @sebet
Many thanks – that’s perfectly clear, & I’ve now upgraded. What I can’t understand is why this excellent plugin isn’t more widely downloaded & used – the free version does more than many other better known ones; maybe when I start using the Pro version it’ll all go horribly wrong . . .
You might like to know the website throws up a certfificate error, btw
