In reply to: [Digg Digg] [Plugin: Digg Digg] floater acting weirdVery strange, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. when it works it will display some but not all of the buttons I’ve selected, and often in the wrong order.
Same in IE,Firefox and Chrome.
Driving me nuts

In reply to: [Digg Digg] [Plugin: Digg Digg] floater acting weirdDoesn’t work for me. I’ve lost it on one site, though on others it’s working fine. I have upgraded to the latest version and it still won’t show.
That’s the floater. I can get the “normal” one to show, but it only shows Linkedin, nothing else.
Are there any other plugins incompatible with this one?

In reply to: Memory errorThey eventually worked it out for me. Somehow they upped the limit to 128m, everything works fine now.
Don’t know why my efforts didn’t work, but it’s fixed at least, thanks for all the help all.
PeterForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Memory errorContacted host, they say I can add
memory_limit = 64M
to the php.ini and that will fix it. It’s on 32 m at the moment.
Tried that and it doesn’t work. Still getting
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1966080 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/bulnbulnps.vic.edu.au/httpdocs/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 5410
It’s not plugin specific, as I can deactivate random plugins and at a certain point it goes away, independent of which ones.
Hmm, no idea what to do now.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Memory errorI might wait, as I still get the dashboard error about simple pie unless I deactivate all the plugins, so it looks like there’s still a memory issue regardless. I’ll see what the host says first.
But if that is fixed and I still can’t upgrade I’ll give that a go, thanks for the suggestion. Always installed via fantastico and done auto upgrade, so that will be a first for me.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Memory errorThanks, I’ll contact the hosting provider.
I can remove the error message by deactivating all plugins, but even with them all deactivated I still couldn’t upgrade, so there is still a problem even with plugins deactivated.
Tried changing to twenty ten, still all the same problems.
Thanks for the help

In reply to: Memory errorThanks for that.
I’ve read that and added a line to wp-settings.php immediately after
// Set initial default constants including WP_MEMORY_LIMIT, WP_DEBUG, WP_CONTENT_DIR and WP_CACHE.
wp_initial_constants( );I’ve added
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
This didn’t have any effect, so I changed the 64 to 96 as it suggested, no effect either.
I may have put it in the wrong place though, I’m no expert at this stuff. Is this the right place?

In reply to: Cannot login to wp-adminOk, got it. First thanks to all for the help.
James prompted me into ringing my isp. Found what it was.
I have security on my sites in the form of an htaccess direct to allow login only from my ip, which is static.
But totally without telling me my isp changed my ip address last night. Nice of them to do so without notifying anyone.
So that was it. All working now.
What the formatting problems were I don’t know, I am still getting problems with the formatting of this site, but I’ll put it down to gremlins. But I can now login to my sites.
Thanks again for the help all, nice to know there’s someone out there to talk to when things go wrong.

In reply to: Cannot login to wp-adminGood questions. I noticed it this morning and all of them that didn’t work didn’t work this morning, but did work within the last few days.
But as far as differences go no there isn’t much at all I can think of. For example I built about 8 sites, all at the same time, all in the same niche, all with the same theme and plugins and all using the current version.
Of these 2 don’t work and the others do.
Got me totally tossed, I have no idea what is going on.
And strange as well that about half the time I come back to this forum to read answers this forum too has lost it’s formatting, and other times is hasn’t.
That’s why I tried it on another computer as I thought maybe it was a computer problem, but on my other computer it’s the same.
Many of the sites that won’t work won’t load the login.php page correctly. But then there is a few that will load that page correctly and still can’t login.
Hmmmm. Totally stuck with this.

In reply to: Cannot login to wp-adminThis is occuring over a number of sites on 3 different servers in 2 different countries and 3 different hosting providers.

In reply to: Cannot login to wp-adminThanks, tried that. When I do that I get a blank white page for my site so it isn’t loading the default theme I assume, when I rename the theme back to normal the site comes back with my theme.
Not sure if that helps or not.
Interestingly I am also finding that for most of the sites causing problems I am unable to login to ftp. But for some I can.
Thanks
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Cannot login to wp-adminNo it’s not plugins. I have tried the ftp method and I have changed to an empty plugins folder and still have the same problem.
How do I change themes if I cannot login? And is the theme likely, I have the same theme on both sites that are working and those that are not.
Thanks for the help

In reply to: Cannot login to wp-adminThanks for that, strangly when I came back here to read this this forum has lost all of it’s formatting too. I hope this posts.
I don’t know whether it’s a plugins thing, as some sites are working and these have the same plugins as those that are not. But I’ll give that a go.

In reply to: Cannot login to wp-adminSorry, forgot to mention, all the sites themselves are there, no problems with the sites, just the login
