Ok.. solved this problem (which is not something described in https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL )

The problem was that I used a Custom Structure /%postname%/ for my permalinks…
The issue was easily resolved by putting permalinks back on ‘Default’ – save that, and then put it back onto Custom Structure /%postname%/ …

All of it is resolved now…

Phew… got scared for a moment…

I tried the different methods described… Checked with myPHPadmin, and the values are correctly stored.

I have access to my site again: https://petercasier.be/writing it displays the home page correctly, I can access the admin page, edit posts etc.. BUT all of the links to any of the articles, categories etc.., give ‘page not found’

e.g. try https://petercasier.be/writing/living-in-italy-more-on-italian-appointments/

so I am not sure where to look for the problem…

I was asking myself the same question.. Would love to shrink the width a little bit so it fits onto an average laptop.

Does anyone know how to do this with the Magazine Basic theme?
