  • Hello, Gareth — I have the exact same problem as @piauadmin described in his original post here but did not see any resolution after your reply above. So, rather than start a new thread I figured I would just pick up where @piauadmin left off. I am using “Extra” theme v 2.0.99. When I installed it, WordPress noted that your DB plugin v 2.3.5 is compatible with my theme.

But when viewing a single discussion-topic page, there was no option for a forum participant to reply, nor were there any navigation controls, UNTIL I followed your recommendation above and disabled the option to use the theme’s templates. Suddenly, I could see the missing functionality but the page layout all disappeared and the single discussion-topic content just spread out to fill the screen.

I also saw in another thread somewhere your recommendation to switch temporarily to a standard WP theme like Twenty-Fifteen and see if the comments & navigation would be functional. So, I did this with Twenty-Seventeen and both the comments box and the navigation controls did appear. This tells me the problem is that the DB plugin is *not* fully compatible with the “Extra” theme after all. But I have already invested a great deal of time and effort into applying the “Extra” theme and have no desire to switch everything over to accommodate this bug.

    So, two questions for you:
    1) Why did disabling the theme’s templates affect ONLY the single discussion-topic pages and NOT the three default pages (topics, login, and new topics)? I can still manipulate those three pages with DIVI Builder.
    2) Where/how can I manipulate the single discussion-topic layout manually so that it mimics the template layout? Those single discussion-topic pages seem to be somewhere beyond my reach.
