I just tried different classic editor plugin, and have the same problem.

I assume a recent WP update caused this. Can this plugin be modified to fix it?

How much of the file path is needed? I’ve tried every combination possible both directly and with Code Snippets

Same issue here, on three blogs. Multiple readers have confirmed this. Started about a month ago. Sitegournd says it’s not them. Seems to be browser level caching not working correctly, but all the headers look right

Thanks for your efforts – this WP update really has made it a challenge to make the plugin work.

I didn’t get this with 5.0.0, but it showed up with 5.0.1.

The update fixed it. I still get the same error message when I activate the plugin, but it works.

Thanks for the code, that did it.

For the record, it looks like some major browsers are not working outside of the Mac environment.

On Window 10 Edge works but current Chrome and current Opera do not.
On Ubuntu 16.04 the new Firefox is good, but the current Chrome does not work.

Same issue here. I see a two-year-old report on this that has been closed with no reply. Should I assume there is no intention to fix this?

All plugins up to date. I do have a thesis update for two of the three sites, need to do it manually.

It was working, then it got iffy again. I assume some update caused a conflict.

I do understand how other plugins or theme can break it. What I do not understand is why it worked despite this for years with a paste from word button, but now it keep getting broken. May have nothing to do with removing the button, but it was NEVER a problem when we had a button.

And it’s broken again. Sometimes. On three separate installs with different themes and various plugins.

I suspect it is a plugin, but it worked flawlessly for years before the recent change.

Sigh

Just checking back to say paste from Word is now working on all my blogs. I updated both TinyMCE and WP core, so I do not know which fixed it, or it it was both. Thanks to whomever took care of the issue.

That said, buttons for options is always good!
