Hi James, No I have not seen it, at this stage I have not explored this plugin yet, I was just searching round the net for a solution that automatically created XML site maps both for WordPress and for HTML / PHP files outside of WordPress, it sounds like this could be just the tool. I will install it and have a go.

Hi, Yes I read that FAQ originally, but it was quite vague and did not answer my query which is why I asked the question.

What I would like to know is what features of Duplicator do not work when the open-basedir resriction is in place ? My host, like others who operate shared hosting environments configure their systems a particular way to suit their purposes and will not make changes to suit mine. And I guess lots of people encounter this problem. Your FAQ Answer is not particuarly informative or helpful.

I ran the plugin and it seems to have performed the site and DB backup just fine, so what is the problem with “Open Base Dir: On – Fail” ?

I’ve managed to work this one out with the help of another user. I did not realize that I had the Multibyte Plugin installed and as this is no use to me then once I removed / deleted the plugin then the update notification disappeared.

Thanks for that, now I understand how it works. Once I delete the Multibyte plugin the update notification will disappear. Many Thanks.
