Thankyou, that did it for me.

OK. I dived into the database and found that the dates (post titles) had been imported badly, so resolved those issues and now it does seem to be working. The Really Simple CSV importer has not been updated for three years and has not been tested with the last three versions of WordPress. I think it may be wordpress that has changed rather than the importer.

I have something of the order of a thousand records to import, and the only other importer I saw had reviews good enough to make me run away.

Thank you for your help and for a great plugin.

I have used the plugin over several years, and I have imported successfully in the past with the Really Simple CSV Importer. For this new site I have a couple of thousand to import, so I set up a test with 12 events. I struggled for a while getting the import to run – declaring that tdih_event was an invalid post_type. Ultimately I solved this by copying the underscore from the example set, and then it did import. However although the screen now says that there are 13 items, none are showing. If I search for something I know has been imported the count at the top tells me it is there, however nothing is showing. Now even when I add one manually the count goes up but still nothing is showing.

    I think you need

Hi, yes the latest update did resolve the permalinks issue. As a devoted Page Builder by siteorigin user I really would like to see the functionality is a widget rather than only in a page theme. I am looking forward to the release when this is included, and have probably paused further testing till then. I am excited by the approach that you are taking, and I see it as having value in a much wider setting than that parish Church Websites where I do a lot of work. Thankyou

Hi, I have this working on a number of sites, certainly more than 10. You need to be using page Builder and the siteorigin widgets bundle. Then when you add the inked blog to a row or section you can start work. Under Blog Post Loop you need to specify the post type, and it also works with Custom Post types. Then under taxonomy when you click in it you should get a subsection to choose the taxonomy that you want represented.

Normally if you start typing in the taxonomy box you may see a filtered selection, but sometimes I think it is a little slow. I have been using some custom taxonomies as well lately and it seems to work well.

I love the inked blog, my only regret is that I don;t seem to get a response to questions, even for the paid version of it which I have also tried.

Just so you know, I discovered these variations in rendering of the tables. I find this a little frustrating as I thought the days of browser variant behavior were supposed to be behind us.

    Widths Firefox Chrome MSEdge
    Col1 66 64 65
    Col2 62 60 61
    Col3 49 48 48
    Col4 58 56 57
    Col5 46 47 48
    Col6 42 42 43
    Col7 52 53 55
    Col8 55 55 56
    Col9 42 42 42
    Col10 72 69 68
    Total 544 536 543
    Table 924 916 923

All three browsers here have left 380 for space/padding/margins etc, so they are consistent there.

If you use the column visibility tool to turn off all columns and then turn them all back on you get an altogether different result.

Thank you for the quick response. shrug. I can probably live with it, though the prevalence of MS browsers – which I only use for testing purposes – may be an issue. I will test the matter further to see what sense I can make of it all.

Overall let me say that I am really super impressed with the speed of return on searches once the page is loaded. I needed to test on a reasonable size data set, similar to what we will use live, as I could have impressed with a dataset of 25 items, but that may have been smoke and mirrors.

Travel well my friend, once in place there should be some coffee money for you.

Thanks for the feedback. By changing the permalinks I have resolved the 404 page problem, however the only permalinks that work are the plain (1st option) so not very pretty in the address bar m- but it works.

Hi, I tried it and it appeared as a slider on the side of the screen, with the word facebook, and a mouseover made kit appear. I quite like it, but not quite what I was looking for for the site I am dealing with.

    Hi

Thanks for the hard work and the great improvement. Implementing categories/tags and allowing the widget to filter to categories/tags would be, to my mind at least, the most helpful next level of functionality.

OK. I deactivated the Plugin and reactivated it. It now seems to work correctly. This is a big improvement on the previous version. Thankyou.

I Concur. When I try to create a new Banner, on save I get a polite message that says something went wrong.

You can also use a post loop module as in some of the site origin ones if that helps
