In reply to: [Yoast SEO] %%title%% doesn't work like it used to in page descriptionIn an attempt to simplify the explanation of this problem…
I’m using %%title%% in the Pages Title Template field and Pages Meta Description Template field, but the outputs do not match.
Has anyone else seen this?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Facebook OpenGraph og:title not working on custom post typeWith v1.4.7 I was having meta description problems with %%title%% pulling the wrong title as well. Currently using 1.3.4.4 which fixed the meta description problem, but now Video SEO for WordPress SEO by Yoast no longer works.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Meta does not changeGoogle decides what is displayed in those lines. There is no way for a webmaster to force it to always use specfic words. The best option that I know of is to put it in the meta description and hope they use it.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Delete all SEO titlesSometimes the tedious manual jobs are safer than messing with the database, even if they take a lot more time. Maybe you could hire someone on elance.com to do it for cheap.
Take a look at the Adminer plugin. It allows for database management from within wordpress. Maybe you can find an easier way with that.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Meta does not changeUsing the meta description is the best way to suggest to google what to use there, but they change what lines they use for that based on what terms are being searched.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] %%title%% doesn't work like it used to in page descriptionThanks wellbeingtips, I finally isolated the problem. It happens when I upgrade the WordPress SEO plugin from v1.3.4.4 to v1.4.
I’m currently running WordPress SEO v1.3.4.4 and %%title%% is working as I need it to for my virtual pages.
Example page with the meta description working as I’d like. (line 25)
Cached page to demonstrate the meta description problem when I upgrade. (line 28)
In both instances the WordPress SEO Pages Meta Description Templates are set to be:
Property information about %%title%% including photos, property features, HOA info, and more. The main page template that is used for these virtual pages has the title of Property Listings.
Each virtual page title pulls a unique property address; for example 10222 E SOUTHWIND Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85262 (MLS# 4854604)
When I upgrade, the meta description switches from pulling the virtual page %%title%% to pulling the main page template %%title%%.
The virtual page titles work as they should, it’s just the description that’s giving me problems.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can use the current version of WordPress SEO, and have it pull the dynamic page titles into the meta description?
Same warning.
It was giving me a different warning, that it couldn’t update files or create folders, but it had a list of things it was trying to do. I completed the list manually and now get this message.
“Unfortunately we’re not able to chmod folders to setup folders properly”
