In reply to: Move from One WP install to AnotherYeah, I could do it manually, but I’d lose the comments, not that there are many, and I was hoping their was a way around doing it manually.
I understand what you are saying, but here is what I see needing to be done.
Export everything as SQL file.
Have an application to upload it.Code grabs posts, looks at current last post number of blog that is going to get the new posts and then renumbers transferred posts based on that. (so if your last post id was 200, the newly transferred posts start at 201). [The only other thing it’d have to change is the categories of the posts ?]
The code then does the same thing for comments.
While it is doing this it keeps the information in two arrays to track what the numbers were and what it has been changed to
It then uses those arrays to put in the comment linkages so the comments are related to the posts.
Would something like that not work? Then you could merge tons of wordpress blogs as long as they were all from the same version.

In reply to: Move from One WP install to AnotherSo merging blogs = too difficult. Plugin someone!?
There are currently 25 posts and 4 comments, contained within 20 categories.
And why is it so difficult a task?
And thanks for the reply ??
