I feel dumb now…I thought I followed the link for the plugin I was asking about but it turns out it is only tagged in this topic.

The plugin is called AskApache Password Protection (AA Pass Pro).

I was able to upload different plugins (thanks govpatel).

My only question is now do I need to activate any of the modules that came with the plugin?

Hey,

I had the same issue and this is what I determined. If you log into a contest and vote on a photo then log back in using a different user name (but same browser) you’ll receive the same error. I believe it prevents people from creating multiple accounts and voting on their own photo. I found deleting cookies solves this.

I did not get a fix for this but I posted something in my rules page (shown in red) to make it seem like I did it on purpose (https://www.corsetstyles.com/photo-contest)

Sounds like you didn’t set up the plugin after you installed it. Frekel is pretty good about following up with his plugin but posting a link to the error might get it resolved quicker.

Yes I’m still using 1.5.2. I’ll upgrade once this competition is finished.

The latest user to complain about the “file already exists with this name” error was jesimorrow. Here’s her profile: https://www.corsetstyles.com/members/jesimorrow/

Her email does have a dot in it between her first and last name but not her username on the site.

One more update:

It appears the “You Already Voted” error was due to trying to vote from the same computer (different username). Perhaps a cookie or IP detection.

The big problem still remains that votes are coming in as drafts. Oddly I did some test voting and some votes worked (added correctly) while others went down in votes. I checked the admin panel and confirmed that a new vote on certain photos will make all previous votes turn into drafts…even when they were originally published.

How can I stop old votes from turning into draft votes?!

I tried changing the settings to require email verification and now everyone gets an error “You Already Voted” when trying to vote. Now none of the photos can be voted on.

I have a contest up and running but there seems to be a major error.

I noticed the votes are not calculating correctly. One photo had 4 votes…I then voted 4 out of 5 stars on it and now it shows 3 votes!!!

I disabled email verification for the contest. I checked the contest in wordpress admin and noticed under “view votes” that some votes are classified as draft and are not published.

Please help me! People are going to be majorly mad as the winner of this contest is going to receive a free $150 corset.

Hey Frekel…just wanted to say thanks again for the awesome plug in. I have a photo contest up and running now and ppl seem to like it a lot.

I did have an issue you should know about.

My photo contest was up and running for several days and without making any changes I went to my contest page and found that the page had an error. Said it was missing a template file and to view the read me file. Everything was fine so I’m not sure what caused that.

I know you posted an update and for some reason I think that had something to do with it. I wasn’t going to apply the update until after my monthly contest was over but I did anyway to try to solve the error.

Everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks again!

I believe this is the admin email that has to be set up in WordPress. This can be changed under Settings – General.

This is a great plug-in by the way. I can’t wait to use it.

I think the problem is that the viewimg.php is not actually set up as a page where it calls to page.php. I am a total novice so I may be way off here but is there a way to add code to viewimg.php to make it call to page.php?

I found this:
<?php comments_template(); ?>

This added to page.php will enable comments on your pages. Although I got comments working on other pages it does not work on viewimg.php. I pasted it in viewimg.php and it still did nothing.

Thanks for the help so far. I will keep looking for a plugin to add comments to pages.
