In reply to: Child theme still using parent style.cssOh yes… I’m a couple of version behind. Weird that it’s not up-to-date on WordPress. Oh well. It works now, so I’ll update when I have time to deal with changes.

In reply to: Child theme still using parent style.cssYes sorry I can’t be of more help figuring it out, but I presume I’d just made a mistake somewhere.

In reply to: Child theme still using parent style.cssWell this won’t be any help to anyone, but it seems to be working fine now. As far as I know I didn’t change anything that would make any difference, but it’s definitely working.
I presume as people generally aren’t having this problem I must have done something wrong somewhere, or maybe a plugin was interfering. Whatever, it works now. Thanks for suggestions and help.

In reply to: Child theme still using parent style.cssI tried that, but it still ignores the child stylesheet, or at least reads it and then overwrites with the parent. I’m also reluctant to remove the inline style functionality in the header because it will remove the theme styling functions within the WordPress interface.

In reply to: Child theme still using parent style.cssI wasn’t actually using the import line in the child stylesheet because I couldn’t understand why I would want to do that, given that the child stylesheet is a full copy of the parent (this could be bad practice too).
Anyway I added the import line to the child, but no change yet.

In reply to: Child theme still using parent style.cssOh sorry.

Absolutely nothing in the child style.css is being used. I can make changes to the parent one and they work fine. Changes to the php files in the child folder work fine too. It’s just the style.css that’s being skipped for some reason. Thank for having a look.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Subpages not working properly with permalinksFinally fixed it – I noticed the default permalinks offered on the WordPress Permalink page where putting /archives/ in before the post_id. Changing it to /%postname%/%post_id% made it work.

In reply to: Subpages not working properly with permalinksIt’s the PhotoWP theme. I tried changing the <?php the_permalink(); ?>
command in theloop.php to a <?php $permalink = get_permalink( $id ); ?> command, but that didn’t work.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Simple problem – home page post displaysThink I’ve figured it out – I wrote a page, not a post. How stoopid.
