In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Plugin deactivated due to an errorThat could have been why I suppose. The error message was that, ‘the plugin does not have a valid header’.
I update plugins, WP, Themes on a weekly basis of 25 sites. All have the Akismet plugin. Of the 5 sites that this happened to there wasn’t really anything that they all have in common except the hosting company. I looked for some commonality but that was all I found.
Sorry I can’t be of more help with that. It remains a mystery.

In reply to: [Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection] Plugin deactivated due to an errorThank you. Going to the server files to delete the folder is exactly what I ended up doing.
All is well now. It is curious as to why this happened in the first place, though.thanks again.
Yes of course! Thank you for your quick reply. I’ve submitted a form.
PhyllisThis is happening form me as well. Any news about a fix?
Thank you for the instructions. I did initially delete awpcp to restore site. Then after waiting a couple of weeks I have just now gone in and disabled all the plugins, restored awpcp, and then one by one activated each plugin. To my surprise everyone of the plugins are okay, no white screen. Yay! not sure why that is but that’s okay, as long as all is working.
You are welcome Brook. Thank you for the explanation of the details of why that happened. It makes perfect sense and is great to know for my future use of W3T.
I deactivated the W3Total Cache plugin completely and deleted it. I’m using a different caching plugin, WP Super Cache.
Thank you Andy. Turns out that The Events Calendar plugin was in conflict with W3Total Cache plugin.
Thank you to the wonderful support of Studio Press of Genesis Child themes.
