  • I agree totally. They tried to convince me I am wrong, but they have removed the FREE migration option using the file upload only (file does not upload) for a restore, and now they FORCE you to buy the plugin. No Transparency whatsoever. They will go down the drain slowly… There are better free and paid products. I have to remove this plugin from all my sites – does not help me in any way if a crash comes.

Thanks for the reply. I hear what you say and somehow I was wrong except for the restore option that was removed from the FREE version. Not only me say it, but some of the influencers on YouTube too. The “limitation” I eventually got fixed – it was a server issue. For the restore option I still stand with a 1 star rating. It WAS a good product for small personal websites, but no more when the FREE option was removed.

For my clients there is the cPanel backup and restore options – so I only need something from my local PC to the server and that I can do easily with the long method; it is schlep but safe and FREE. Tx

    ??

    FAQ section

How do I restore a backup?

A restore feature has been added to the Pro version of the plugin. For more information check this post. The Pro version also provides a Restore Standalone App. To have these and even more features get BackWPup Pro Version.

Sorry, does not make sense. Correct, two years ago I have added the FREE plugin to a website, and as always (as a longtime systems developer who worked with a few source code management apps including GitHub), my first task was to see if I can make a backup AND a restore – it was a no-go… If you have it in the FAQ, put the solution at the top. Kind regards.
