What i am trying to achieve is to redirect visitors of any page from site-a.com to the home page of site-b.com but not redirect site-a.com/wp-admin when i am trying to logon as the admin of the site-a.com

If I do that, will I loose m’y galleries and albums and have to recreate them

Yes it works but you need to make sure that you are using the same version of php and wordpress as the ones that were in use when the import file was created.

It worked for me on first try once i had setup the versions correctly. Thanks for sharing your findings as they helped me a lot

And i now notice that the behavior with chrome is intermittent(works é does not work), very strange

I am also having the problem . When the pages are accessed using IE11, it is working correctly but when using chrome 36,i am having the problem. Any ideas ???
