You were so right: it was a plugin. Namely the Magic-fields plugin, because I deactivated it and there was the page tab again.
And then I reactivated the same plugin and the page tab stays there. Success! Well let’s hope I can keep it there.

Hi, same problem here.
I couldn’t find any other post that resolves this, Steve.

One would expect the calendar content to appear in the main column just like any other content.

If this is a theme issue, could you please explain how to keep all categories content at the same place?

Err .. solved? I got some question marks in my posts, instead of spaces and special characters like ? and stuff. Should have to do with the MySQL 4 version which works with UTF-8 …

Well, since I got no replies, I was searching further for the solution for many hours … and putting the solution here for other desperados.

I figured that when I downloaded the database file, there was a little square (??) for every return in the file.
When I just got it from the browser and copy/pasted into a new file, the squares where gone. Then it worked. Hmm … I mean it didn’t, because I got no tables ?! Nothing.
Again hours. Then I found that I had to remove all — comment lines in the file. Even replacing with # did not work.
A mistery to me, but in the end it’s solved.

Thanks. The entire WP page and the entire backend went just completely blank.
So what I did then was deleting the whole WPG2 plugin with ftp. Then everything worked correct again. So in the meantime no WPG2 until I have a solution ??

“Someone” should have experienced this before.

I followed all the rules and everything worked fine, untill I activated the WPG2 plugin to integrate Gallery2 and WP.

Any help would be much appreciated because running out of time ??

I had already Options -> Discussion: Unchecked “Allow people to post comments on the article” but I’m not sure if this was from the beginning. The point is that I never wanted comments in the first place. It’s just not the concept of that site. So I understand that it’s probably overwritten by the individual articles. I’ll change them.

Ok folks, I found it.
Just the <p></p> at beginning and end was the culprit. Took me hours ??
Don’t ask me why only Safari suffered from this.

Thanks, but that’s what I tried and so it appears to be a Safari browser issue. Because it stays also when I use another computer with Safari. With other browers (Firefox, Opera) it looks OK!
Question: what can I do to tame Safari on this?
