Esmi, I am illiterate in almost every aspect of WP. I do not know where to even enter code into a site with copy/paste, let alone write it. I know I have Market Theme which is a pre designed e-commerce theme. (I didn’t even know these words until last month, that is how low my ability is). I just want to be able to show product on the grid of the front page and keep comments out of there. I have of course unticked the commments trackbacks and pingbacks for that page. However, everytime I post the post pops up on the grid like it is supposed to be a product with a “Photocoming soon” ballon.
Where do you put code into your page/post/catagory???

In reply to: How to get the comment box to show on postsI think I figured out why the product pictures wont’t pop out to a large view. They were copied and pasted from the old website where they were already sized to thumbnail in a different website.
Now the big question is, how do I get my front page to not show regular posts, like comments etc…and only show the product posts? I would like to contain the comments to the forum or blog. I still want the grid on the front page with the products pictures showing. This page will host the New Products when I get them loaded in.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: How to get the comment box to show on postsGOVPATEL Yes, that is my front page. It works but, I don’t find the comment boxes for visitors to leave their thoughts. Can you leave a comment on the sight? I need to be able to create a blog and a forum, so I need those boxes up and running. My understanding is that a forum is used for corresponding with your visitors and a blog is more for sharing information with your visitors. A blog would be set up on a page, and a forum would be set up as a catagory or a post/ or a post within a catagory. Do I need to download a skin for a blog or a forum?
I really need the understanding of the lingo first, I believe.

In reply to: How to get the comment box to show on postsJacorre All of my posts have the comments and trackback pingbacks ticked on them. They show as existing, I just do not have the box to actually type a comment in.

In reply to: How to get the comment box to show on postsGOVPATEL MY blog page is the page (not a cat or a post) that says Back Alley Blog, my understanding from my three weeks of wading through the Get started in WordPress Lessons etc…has informed me that a Blog is static and should be a page…?

In reply to: How to get the comment box to show on postsOk, this is complete. I have all the posts showing on the page titled blog. Problem is, there is no comment area for persons to post a message. I can’t even leave a message. The little balloon for comments shows by each post along with the #0 showing how many comments have been made. Nothing from there though.
Thanks so far though.
