In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] CDN Support for user avatarsWhen I say CACHE above… I really meant to use the word CACHE in terms of uploading the avatars to a CDN…

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] CDN Support for user avatarsFrederick,
Avatars in BuddyPress are saved in one folder that then includes additional folders, marked numerically, for the avatars as they are generated…
Is there a way for me to cache (include) folders named 1-1500 within a single directory and not cache (exclude) 1500 and above OR 1500 to 3000 using regular expressions? This would effectively solve the BuddyPress Avatar/Group-Avatar problem by adding a couple of lines and adjusting them every week or month as needed…
In other words, should not the admin-selected DEFAULT avatar show-up when creating any event…as it IS the default? When the other generated avatars show up, people are not aware that there even is a default or thing that the generated avatar IS the default…
I don’t know how better to explain this…
Ok…
To be clearer: The default Avatar is selected and does APPEAR after the event is created… BUT, when creating the event another image appears when actually creating the event… Here is a picture:
https://gyazo.com/2e769de6b42bdbc4d0a90bacfd8c07ed.png
This one of those random created images from somewhere in WordPress/BuddyPress… when creating the EVENT it should default to the chosen image inputted in the Admin-backend…
Unless, I have something else weird going on… I don’t believe I have any plugins active that would be making this happen.
Was going to post on bp, but I’ll post here… I’ve changed the default avatar, but when creating an event it sill shows the gravatar from gravatar.com…
However, it does POST the default AVATAR that I’ve selected… this is still very confusing for users creating an event as it LOOKS as though it is pulling a weird faced GRAVATAR for the event, even though it ends up POSTING the default avatar.
Again, this is when creating the event… When you create the event (3rd Step) it still shows the GRAVATAR and not the DEFAULT AVATAR selected in the admin panel…
Thanks! I’ll check back here in a a day or so… if I don’t see anything I’ll post on BP…

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] CDN Support for user avatarsFrederick I would like to revisit this with BuddyPress as most of the CDN issues have been resolved with your latest updates….
One of the best uses of a CDN for BuddyPress would be to have the Avatars uploaded to the CDN…
When a user uploads an avatar, and the avatar upload path is set to the include path i.e. xxx/wp-content/uploads/avatars, the avatar will appear as a broken link because the file has not been uploaded to the CDN yet…and is pointed to the CDN… so the user cannot edit or see the uploaded picture because BuddyPress is now immediately looking for it on the CDN…and it’s not there yet…
So if the CDN is auto-upload is checked and set to 3600 seconds the avatar will not appear for 1 hour… in the meantime if they go to edit their avatar it will not allow them because it is looking for the graphic on the CDN…
In addition, the graphic will appear as broken until that time…
Am I missing something? This is the way it appears to be working… I just confirmed this again and it is working as I stated above…

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] w3 total cache – why cdn on local server ?Hi Frederick, sorry a couple days out on this… Ok, I changed the server timezone and it was indeed incorrect. When I corrected it, I WAS able to create buckets directly from the PLUGIN (BTW now using your latest Dev. plugin as of today). However, The Test upload does not work… just sits there… no error
Also, I’m not able to upload any of the files via the plugin interface either… after starting the upload it just counts time and 0 progress.
I’m using Buddpress 1.2.5 and WP 3.0.

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] w3 total cache – why cdn on local server ?Curl is installed… it is quite possible the time zone is incorrect as I remember I had to change it to central standard time to account for an issue with Buddypress listing wrong times on private messages…. let me check and see….

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] w3 total cache – why cdn on local server ?Hi frederick,
I’m trying to use the CDN feature with a buddypress installation using s3 amazon (bp 1.2.5 and wp 3.0) and I cannot get it to make a bucket… it simply tells me to check my credentials “Error: Unable to list buckets (check your credentials).”
I’ve checked the key/secret key numerous times and have even created a new key and tried it… same result…
I’m using the development version of the plugin.

In reply to: [Plugin: BuddyPress Badge] Profil link return to homepageWarut,
Cannont Get Badge to work with a clean install of BP at my site. No error. Can pull up the Badge Generator Page from profile. A RED X (missing image box) appears and this is the code generated by the program:
‘<!– Buddypress Badge START –>Dr. Joseph Pisano
<img src=”https://musicpln.org//badge/3.png” width=”” height=”” style=”border: 0px;” />Create Your Badge<!– Buddypress Badge END –>’
Left a message on BuddyPress Forums and your site.

In reply to: Twitter Tools not updatingI’m also having this problem at https://mustech.net
The problem is only with the Digests. It worked fine in 2.8.3, stopped working in 2.8.4 and still doesn’t work in 2.8.5 for me.
I’m hoping Alex will fix this with a new update of Twitter Tools soon.
