Thanks, it works for me too on a page but displays incorrectly as described above on the post type archive page. Is there a way of sending you login details of the site so you can see what’s happening? It’s a test site so I don’t want to post details publicly.

Hi, it’s the inbuilt Gutenberg block Rename function as described at https://wptavern.com/gutenberg-16-9-lets-you-rename-almost-any-block-adds-experimental-form-and-input-blocks. It’s the same on core blocks and third-party ones (like blocks provided by https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ultimate-addons-for-gutenberg/).

It’s in the block editor for the site not on the front end but if you let me know how to give you a log-in I can send one to you so you can see it happening.

Thanks, no it’s definitely PublishPress Capabilities. I disabled all plugins and the Advanced tab was visible, and then reenabled them one-by-one, it was when PublishPress Capabilities was reenabled that the Advanced tab disappeared again.

@meymigrou Yes, Rank Math SEO plugin was the problem. Update Rank Math and it should be fixed now.

Thanks, sorry for the late reply. It worked previously, and I have test versions of the website where it does work. The update to v4 hasn’t fixed the issue.

Thanks, I do want it only for menu items, I don’t want to get rid of slugs for all pages, and the menu items aren’t translated, it’s that the system is adding the slug to every menu link when you’re looking at a translated page whether it’s translated or not, and I’d like to find a way to stop it doing that just for menus.

Thanks for the workaround. I’ve already switched off Force language in custom links and the menu items still get language slugs. Manual redirects won’t be practical, is there a hook that can stop the language slug being inserted into menu items please?

Thanks very much. French is an additional language. I understand that if you’re looking at an additional language page, then the language will have the language slug in the URL.

What I’m talking about is when you’re looking at an additional language page, the URLs for all the menu items will have the same language slug in too (e.g. /fr/contact, vs /contact/ when you’re looking at a default language page) – is there a way to switch that off please? I’ve cleared the cache, and tried this in Divi theme and 2020 theme.

Thanks, you’re right I’ve managed to get it working on a blank site. On the normal site when I create an unsynced pattern, it comes up with a notification saying the unsynced pattern is saved, but then the pattern is synced. Will try the deactivating plugins trick.
