In reply to: [NextCellent Gallery - NextGEN Legacy] Rename URL path of page breaks album@wpready, Yes, your description does make sense. I just tried the options to familiarise myself with the way they effect the links etc. I am not sure quite why you would want to use these options though. Linking a gallery to a page and switching off the in-line setting means you’d need a lot of pages for your gallery. Not sure of an application which would need this in-line setting applied across the entire gallery, but there we have it!
Cheers, Paul

In reply to: [NextCellent Gallery - NextGEN Legacy] Rename URL path of page breaks albumGood stuff! I’d also be keen to see a way if getting rid of the nggallery from within the URL path. You see this when you have an album containing albums and browse to a sub album, so for example on my site you see the url:
https://www.pjamedia.com/galleryelse/nggallery/samples-from-test-shoots/
With that second part of the path. Any way to remove this level completely?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [NextCellent Gallery - NextGEN Legacy] Rename URL path of page breaks albumFound a solution to the issue, but this does not address the underlying cause.
I found that by turning off the use permalinks option under gallery settings, general tab, allows my album gallery links to start working. I then turned this option back on and re-generated URL (button on same settings page) and it now works fine.I just uploaded my css file via the contact form on your website. Thanks again, Paul
Hey WPReady, I can confirm that your fix worked. Only minor issue (which doesn’t effect functionality of listing/selecting an album image) is that even after selecting an image, the progress indicator remains swirling in the rightmost side of the field. Still, I’m very happy the fix worked and can’t thank you enough for pursuing this. Will this get merged into the main branch at some point?
On a separate note – Can you please advise where would I send my custom template files to?
Hi,
I tried your branch on my dev site. The dropdown on the ‘Edit Album’ popup form does appear to display a list of preview images – even quite quickly, despite there being a lot of images in that album, so I’m really impressed with your fix. Only slight issue is that the drop-down appears to have a z-index lower than that of the ‘Edit-Album’ popup, so it appears behind. If you can fix the css for that, I think we are onto a winner!
I’d also be keen to know if you’d be interested in a modified layout I have created for my site – (I think it provides a cleaner thumbnail layout) to see if you’d be interested in merging this into the build? there are 2 new files (modified versions of originals) one called view/album-pja.php (a direct/renamed copy of view/album.php), with a modified gallery.css called pjagallery.css. Then in the menu under Style, I choose my modified CSS, and use the shortcode [nggalbum id=n template=pja]. I get the result like this:
https://www.pjamedia.com/galleryelse/nggallery/samples-from-test-shoots/ (please realise there is some mature content on this page if you do click)Thanks once again – awesome work!
Paul
No errors in Javascript console. Wheel still spinning!
Regarding “endless spinning of the swirling progress should be fixed in 1.9.22”. I am now on 1.9.25.3 and this issue is still not resolved.

In reply to: [WP Backup] No backups in choosed folderI have the same issue. I added the constant as you did to wp-config.php (as described on the plug-in’s ‘Constants’ help page, and even though the plugin’s ‘FAQ’ page I can see my new path displayed at the top, when I run a backup it still uses the default (plugin defined) path to store the backups. Also, as you are seeing, the backups list does not show any backups, as this is looking in your amended path.
This is clearly a bug in the plug-in which needs to be addressed by the developer. Unfortunately, I imagine the only way that will happen is to pay for support as the developer seems to have his own support site for this which you need to pay for here: https://fixedwp.com/backup-plugin/ (costs $23.99)
You should find your backup files in the default backup path which will be here:
/your/home/path/wp-content/backupwordpress-<GUID>-backups/I hope the developer reads these post and fixes this!
For the developer: If the backup path is amended by inclusion of a const in wp-config.php in the format: define( ‘HMBKP_PATH’, ‘/home/xxxxxx/public_html/_backups’ );
no backups are written to the amended path, but remain being written to the plugin’s default path. The backups list however displays the backups found in the amended path so will never show any backups. Would be grateful if you would fix this issue.Cheers, Paul
One suggestion I have is perhaps for the list of images which is displayed when you click the drop-down, should perhaps just be images from the underlying albums of the chosen gallery, rather than what seems to be some randomly chosen images (I’m sure they are not random, but the seem to have little relationship to the album you are editing.
Thanks for the heads up on the versions. I have 1.9.23, so will hopefully get the fix in 1.9.24.
As for other suggestions for the plugin generally, I think it would be good to have a breadcrumb feature, as navigation is a tad lacking at present I feel.
Thanks again, Paul
niknetniko, Many thanks for your reply. Unfortunately your suggestion does not work.
1. I am able to locate the image ID I wish to use no problem
2.When selecting the preview image, I enter the image ID number as chosen in 1. but I simply get the swirling progress indicator in the rightmost side of the field and this displays indefinitely, without the field ever settling on my image input. The only way I have been able to choose the image I want is to edit the _ngg_album table directly entering the image number into the previewpic field. Not Ideal but at least some sort of workaround to an otherwise hopeless situation.
I would be grateful if the developers could spend some time looking at a better solution for an admin to choose a preview image, as the current way simply is not practical unfortunately.
Thanks again, Paul
You are indeed correct. Many thanks for fixing issue 1. Now for Issue 2! Until this is resolved I am unable to deploy my new WP website, as I can’t have the Albums displaying the wrong master image.
Thanks again for sorting the first issue.
Just updated to 1.9.19 – release notes say that bug for files/folders with spaces have been resolved. Just checked and the bug I reported above (in fact both of them) still remain. If I now try to recreate the thumbs in a gallery, it errors.
I’d be gladly be willing to test any release code for the developer if this would help fix my issues. As I say, both issues detailed in the OP are still present in 1.9.19
No worries.
I just updated to 1.9.18. I see the issues mentioned above haven’t yet been addressed. I look forward to this happening so I can release my new WP site. Thanks for your efforts, Paul A

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Date format confusionThought I’d add, that the HTML5 fallback date picker (in FAQ article in my previous message) doesn’t work in IE8! (not sure about newer revisions). It doesn’t allow the month to be changed when clicking the right-left arrows – only the current month is available. In FF v20 its fine.
