I’ve re-saved both page, once with the option “Hide URL language information for default language” checked and once with the same option unchecked. Like before, no english page in the first case, no pages at all in the second case.

Could deactivating the other plugins give to the site collateral issues? I’m not feeling comfortable with this :O

Thank you for your assistance and your patience, Chrystl.
Meanwhile i tried to make it works on a copy of the website that i have on my pc, in local, with mamp. It works with no problems.. could it be that the online version doens’t work cause i don’t have “the privileges”.. or stuff like that that only the colleague who transferred the web-site into the server online has? I don’t know, i repeat, i’m the newbie here ??

anyway, here’s the screeshot you requested.

    Hi Chrystal,
the “Locale” for the english is en_GB

I’ve already downloaded those .mo and .po files few days ago when i encountered the same message on the polylang setting page. And the message disappeared, so i thought this time it was a different issue, cause the files are still there. I don’t know why the message is back. Could it be this the reason why the all thing doesn’t work?

I saw something: if i uncheck the option “Hide URL language information for default language” and i open a homepage preview.. it shows instantly an error page. If i check it, the homepage appears back (but anyway, if i try to click on the english flag the error page comes back)

Hi Chrystl, thank you for the quick reply! I made a new website just to test the plugin from the beginning following the documentation you gave me.. and it seems it works!
Now, when i try to do the same with my website, after i create the second language (english) a message appears: “The language was created, but the WordPress language file was not downloaded. Please install it manually.” …i’m not sure if i can ignore it or what i should do about it. Any suggestion?
