This is normal. There is “Bulk Select” button for multiple select at the top of media files.

Drag and Drop functionality is based on wordpress’s menu. When you sort wordpress’s menu, it works exactly plugin’s category. I don’t think it is hard to work with.

You could assign new image to folder while you creating post. I have checked that.
Could you please send me a screenshot of inserting of your new image? I have to see.
