In reply to: [Ixion] Where is version 1.1.6 ?Hi Jerry!
Sorry for my belated reply. The changeset is okay, but I get your point about it being retired and the hoops that would be needed to jump through.
Picky, but currently Ixion here says
“This theme hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”
It would be good if a8c, or the Theme Team changed that to “It’s dead Jim” so potential users know it’s floated away into space. The same of course should apply to all such dated WP themes. Oh, and plugins too. Or maybe just remove them from being listed? As it stands Ixion is good for the site I look after but I’ll take the hint and browse around.
Thanks again and stay safe ??

In reply to: renaming wordpress site — IntranetYou change the /wordpress by moving the entire contents of that folder into a folder named as you need it to be.
OR
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_DirectoryFor the IP > domain name – have you purchased hosting?
Is the IT dept able to help to map a domain name to something on their servers?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Uploading media files failed to moveThis will be because the folder permissions on the server are stopping it.
You could try setting /wp-content to 755 and you could also ask your webhost if they can fix the permissions so that WordPress can install upgrades, plugins, themes and your uploads.

In reply to: Why does my wordpress chop out half of my blog posts?None of those leap out as being problematic from what I know, but there are some you could deactivate anyway:
Anti-spam (as you have akismet)
Blogger Importer (as it as done it’s job I assume)
Related Posts (that should be part of Jetpack?)To be clear – you write a post in the editor that is say 5 paragraphs long, you hit Publish and not all 5 are then shown?
And if you then edit that post you find the content has completely gone?
Is this just posts, just pages, or both?
I’m pretty sure this will be a plugin interfering. The only way to find out is to deactivate a plugin, make a post, see what happens.
If the post is still affected – that plugin did not do it.
If the post is good – whatever you deactivated is guilty. These plugins will not be doing it:
Akismet
Blogger Importer
Easy Privacy Policy
Hello Dolly
Jetpack
WordPress Database Backup
WP Super Cache
so I would start with the others. When did you first notice this, and what do you recall was the change you made right before that?

In reply to: Can't login admin, verification neededThat sounds like you either installed a plugin, or changed the .htaccess to limit access.
Do you have ftp access to the site, or can you look inside /wp-admin with a control panel file manager to see if there is a .htaccess and what it says? If there is a .htaccess, try renaming it to .htaccess-old and then try and login.

In reply to: how of fix cookies are blocked due to unexpected output. What happens if you try another browser?
Where is your site? Please do not post any cpanel details!
As this is a paid plugin you will need to seek support from the place you bought it.
You will have paid for Support when you bought it.
They also know their plugin – we have no access to paid plugins, sorry.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Is it safe to use FTP for Backups?what are you backing up?
Typically FTP will only backup the contents of /public_html
For your WordPress site then you would only need to backup /wp-content
It will not by default though backup the database and that’s where your posts, pages and comments are.If you are concerned about security I would suggest getting an account with Dropbox or similar and then using a plugin which will create the complete backup you need and then send it to that service.
