MAMP needs to stay On. Quitting it will stop the db’s.

Do you have Skype or any IM applications running?

Do you have any other applications running which might interfere?

The ‘database connection error’ means that WP cannot see the db at all, it can’t even check the user/pass are correct so it would seem then that something could be blocking it.

When you launch MAMP do you see green for both Apache and mySQL?

Might the ports numbers be wrong?

What is your db_name, db_user and db_password?

What plugins do you have active?
And you are logged in as the site admin?

the default db_user is root with no password.

Have you tried that?

I would create another db in phpmyadmin and try connecting to that.

And that you check the db_name – might there be an extra space before/after the name in wp-config?

I would try creating another database?

And check that a space hasn’t crept into the db name in wp-config?

Also contact your webhost and explain the situation and ask for their help in examining the site.

I have asked the Plugin Review team to take a look at the plugin to determine if there is an issue to answer.

You need to ask your webhost – only they know if such a connection is allowed and if so the correct address to use.

What are the permissions on the /wp-content folder and those below? I assume they are too restrictive right now.

What app are you using on the nexus?

In Settings > General there are two urls.
Change both of those to https://domainname.com
Logout

Move all the files out of /test and into the root folder

Login

That should work.
