but you would need a plugin for the user registration and upload

A padding or margin problem? perhaps your (wrap?) is not wide enough to have a second sidebar

How external?
is it in the wordpress installation, but not in the usual loop?,
or do you mean to post it on a different site?

looks like they are simple divs that contains google ads.
(links with images)

instead of wrapping the site into your header, content, sidebar,footer
you basically do something like;
horizontal top ad
left and right ad
actual page

You need to add alot more picuters if you are going to write about holidays, and remove the gloomy ones ‘cos it doesnt make us want to go there ??

looks like it could be a nice theme, but I had to rename the folder for wordpress to even find it, and even then it doesnt seem to load the css correctly.

It also causes a few errors when checked with the Theme Check plugin.

The theme is full of the authors own ads, and hardcoded links.

-and even it wasnt, its full of errors.

the tag you need to change is #respond h3, you might need to add it to the css.

Show us an example so we can understand better what you mean.

you can’t turn a background image on its own into a link,
but you can make a link of an image and then put other elements over it.

I’m getting

Only zip files are supported. We’ve had reports that Firefox will sometimes report zip files as generic binary files (which we don’t allow). Try uploading your zip file with Safari or Opera

I’ve re-compressed my files into a zip several times as well.
