I had fiddled with my file permissions and ended up having to get support to reset them….
Anyway – I just uploaded a google image into a gallery, then put a shortcode in a post. Again, it’s not shown up. I checked FTP and thumbnails are not being created. I checked file permissions on the thumbs directory and they are 644.
I wonder if they should be different – and what. You’d have thought installation/programming would have set them right.
I then went into manage gallery and chose “create new thumbnails”, then checked FTP and it has created a thumbnail.
I then returned to my site and reloaded the page (Ctrl F5 to clear the cache) – still no thumbnail showing up.
I right clicked the thumbnail icon and chose “open image in new tab” and I get 403 Permission Denied. I checked the file permissions in FTP and they are 644 (read/write, read, read).
My files are .jpg files. The google logo I uploaded is a .gif.
There were no errors whatsoever.
I logged in, clicked onto the Plugins page, it was all there – EventsManager was indicating there was an upgrade, I clicked on “automatic upgrade” and upon returning to the plugins page (or any page related to the plugin) it was completely empty.
As for the rest – I’d need a clear head to get round to doing those things, so maybe later.

In reply to: v3.2 Themes Not Displaying in Firefox (including Twenty Eleven)Cheers. I’d spotted something yesterday and have been working with my host on that. I’ll read your links to move this forward and try to get it fixed tonight.

In reply to: v3.2 Themes Not Displaying in Firefox (including Twenty Eleven)Thanks esmi … what should I be looking for/at?
I’ll go and poke about in the files and see if I can spot the blinding obvious…. but it’ll have to be blinding and very obvious for me to spot it probably ??
It is on all/any theme. The one that’s there at the moment is a random one I activated just to see if it were all, or just one. I’ll go and poke about activating a few more and see if they all still don’t work, or what.

In reply to: v3.2 Themes Not Displaying in Firefox (including Twenty Eleven)I just tried that again, this time selecting “everything”. The lot.
Still no change.

No change. Still formatting isn’t appearing.

In reply to: v3.2 Themes Not Displaying in Firefox (including Twenty Eleven)Thanks Mark.
I tried the Restart with Add-ons Disabled (3-4x) – still the same problem.
I’ll go off and google how to clear the browser’s cache. I did try Ctrl F5 but that made no difference, so obviously there’s a cache somewhere to clear that I need to discover.

In reply to: Problems with "events-manager" RSS-FeedYou reminded me that I didn’t get this working in a previous version, so now I will attempt to get it working… and for those that want to know where everything’s coming from this is documenting my route. I cannot help anybody, I can only document my own route to success/failure ??
The page to read is here https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/shortcodes/
It says:
[events_rss_url]
Displays the events RSS url (e.g. “https://yoursite.com/?dbem_rss=main”)
So, I tried putting my domain name into that and typing it into the address bar of my browser, I hit the Enter key and waited – and about 15 seconds later I got the rss feed for my events calendar, which turned out to be:
https://mysite.com/the-path-to-my-events-page/rss
To remain “anonymous”, let’s say that my site is about events in toytown, then my rss feed is at:
https://mysite.com/events-in-toytown-whats-on/toytown-events-diary/rss
This is because I created a page called: events-in-toytown-whats-on
Then I created a page under that called: toytown-events-diaryI hope that makes sense to somebody ??
If you have a 2-day event (or any number) and you want it to appear on both days in the calendar, then you need to:
Enter start date
Enter end dateThen, over on the top right, tick RECURRING. Then put in 1 (it’ll have daily in the drop down). This (in English) means “I want this event to recur each 1 day between the start and end dates”.
It’ll then show up.
The feature is quite powerful once you get used to using it, and once you get your head around what happens.
Events Calendar then creates one event for each day – and you can amend them separately after that. This is great if you want to create something that has different features/events on each of the days as you can create the fact the event occurs, but then make each calendar content different.
