Thanks for following up. I am wrangling our CAS server to release the correct attributes. I don’t think it is your plug-in that is changing the username. I’ve not checked the WordPress code, but my theory is that when I log in via Authorizer as username, and I don’t have an email attribute released by CAS, a new account is created with the email address [email protected], but since WordPress finds an account that already has the user_login username, it creates a new account with the user_login [email protected]

It doesn’t just happen with Hemingway. We have a twentyten child theme and the Google+ profile changed one of our users’ display_names. Seems like a bug to me.

OK, I see the problem now. Version 3.0.0 of the Akismet plug-in defines an Akismet class, which cannot be redeclared by your lib/akismet.class.php. Perhaps renaming the Akismet class in your file would help.

If the preBind username has a slash in it, am I to assume you’re using the DOMAIN\username syntax for Active Directory? You could try username@fqdn instead.

Upgrading to WP 2.7 broke account creation with wpDirAuth, but owners of existing accounts can still log in. I presume that’s a different problem.
