Not sure if i should be starting a new thread or not?
anyhow.
Bluehost does have a file manager and I created the css child file and uploaded it and was able to see it in my dashboard. But did something wrong so I uninstalled everything.

I guess at this point the questions I have are:
where do I upload the new child theme file? Do I create a new directory under themes and put it in there ?do I just upload it when i am here (see screenshot)

Do I delete or replace any existing files?

And will i be making all my changes to this file for each page etc?

And when I do alter the child do i delete the existing css file and upload the new one?

But after reading your article, I do not need to use a client? i can just do the edits in notepad-zip em and upload them?

Thanks. I have a lot to learn all around. Mostly I need to figure out how ftp works and all the basics of using my host-bluehost. Then of course all the Word press stuff.

So to upload via ftp I need to use like filezilla or Fire FTP right?

I will try to just keep reading all i can and hopefully the sun will shine through this cloud of confusion soon.

I have been trying to get this child theme going all morning but have only been able to completely confuse myself. I am new to the whole hosting, FTP etc. And I have read and seen diferent tutorials on doing it. I suppose I need some more specific instructions for my situation with bluehost ?

How do I create the theme? do i do it through an FTP server or through my dashboard or some other way through bluehost?

I will continue to search but any direction help is welcome.

I will stick with the theme i have and I am researching child themes.
