have you ever uploaded via media upload a file with that name, sometimes one over writes the slug of another

double check that under user you have activated visual editor.

then theres still something wrong in the code, you’ll either have to replace the file if you cant find the problem or use win merge to find whats wrong/different. could be as simple as a space or a period or something

this path to fixing your website when it’s down will pretty much always be there, so feel free to go crazy, but dont make the people on your site mad.

personaly i like code editor more than edit. edit is just regular text, but code editor has colors to show you if somethings good or not, kinda like the red underlines in word

yeah click edit again, utf-8 is default. it’s like english or something

you can try and edit the file back to something functional if you can remember what you were doing. “ctrl-f” will help you search for where you were if you can remember the value you inserted for the header.

no problem, from now on before you edit files, copy and paste them into notepad or something so you can always revert back to what you started with that day by just pasting it back into the file.

the old functioins.php is under your theme name after you click on wp_content then themes in file manager in cpannel

then right mouse click and choose edit or code edit

a new file- you will have to google for your theme then download it to your pc

pages are static. you can only post to categories.

make sure you are editing a page in visual, not text

click on wp_content
then click on themes

if you dont care about losing those things, you could just download the theme to your computer and upload the functions.php file to replace the old one.

or download win merge and it compares the differences in two files.

so youll copy and paste the text from your edited file to a word doc and save it. then copy and paste the text from the new functions.php file and save it separately. open them in winmerge and youll see all the differences and you can just fix the one that doesnt allow your site to work without losing your other stuff.

i doubt you deleted it. try searching for it
