Do you have any caching plugins? Did you try flushing *all* website caches?

Depends on your server’s CPU load. If it’s still too high while editing posts or when performing other administrative tasks in the panel, try using longer heartbeat update times. Front end disabled should work fine for most websites, unless you need near real-time notifications, (e.g. in a buddypress installation).

I can select multiple authors from the list in the entry box, but it makes no difference: they don’t show up in the published update and when I edit a published update they aren’t there.
