I realize this is probably not a solution, but maybe it provides some insights.

The only way i was able to create excerpts with this plugin was by setting a “feature image” for each post. And that created two images per excerpt. And (as you would expect) added an unwanted feature image to my posts.

I made a support request in the WP troubleshooting forum about the dual images, but so far, no response: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cant-get-thumbnails-in-excerpts-to-display-properly-with-twentytwelve-theme?replies=1

My site is running wp 3.4.2 with twentytwelve theme.
