Well, I figured it out, and don’t I feel stupid.
The first code that I was using was correct. I just needed to clear the cache. I still am not able to use the css editor preview. I have to save the changes, and then clear the cache to see the results, but at least I was able to get it working.

Checking on your question, I discovered that my css editor is not working at all. I tried to change the menu from the tangerine font back to it’s original and nothing is happening. I also noticed earlier today that it didn’t want to open the preview at all. I had to close down the site and reopen it to get the preview to work. So, now I am wondering what’s up with the css editor. Just to double check, I deleted several sections of code, and it did nothing.

I just published a new post. I did not attempt to override the images. I just let it do its thing. This time I got different images for Twitter, Facebook and Google+
It grabbed the correct image (1st image) for Google+, Facebook grabbed the 4th image from the post, and twitter grabbed the 3rd.
I guess that’s better than grabbing the logo, but I would still like to determine which photo is used or at least have it be consistent so that I can adjust the posts accordingly.
