    Hi @silverhands ,

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback, and I sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration you have experienced. Let me provide you with more details on how to retrieve form submissions using WPForms Lite.

Entries in WPForms Lite(free version) are not stored by default. However,?for the users who prefer to stick with the free version, it is recommended that they leverage the Email notification feature so that entries can be managed via email. Please know that you should be able to set up form notification emails in WPForms Lite so that?you will receive the entries submitted by your users. Here’s the?tutorial with all the details.?With WPForms Lite, you’re able to set up one notification email — however, you can send this one notification to as many different email addresses as you’d like.

Enabling the?Lite Connect?option?will back up the entries submitted through your forms for the future. This means, if you decide to upgrade to WPForms Pro, you can restore your entries and have instant access to those reports right under WordPress dashboard.

If you are not receiving the email notifications, I’ll recommend you to check that your form notification settings are configured correctly by following our tutorial.

If your notification settings are correct, the issue is likely because the emails sent from WordPress are not authenticated (unlike emails sent directly from dedicated email service providers). As a result, they are likely to be filtered by the receiving mail server.
To resolve email delivery issues like this, you can configure an SMTP plugin on your site so that emails are sent as authenticated. We have an article with a list of?recommended SMTP options?and links to their setup tutorials.

In case this helps, you might be able to retrieve previously submitted data by contacting your site’s hosting provider and confirming if they are able to retrieve the undelivered emails through the email logs.

And if you’d like more help with the email delivery issue or using WPForms Lite in general, please feel welcome to post in our WPForms Lite support forum.

    I hope this helps.
    Thanks!

    Hi @manera ,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration you have experienced.

Please know that entries in WPForms Lite (free version) are not stored in the database and are not stored by default.

    Entry storage feature:
Additionally, the Lite Connect feature only activates if you enable the “Enable Entry Backups” option under?WPForms ? Settings ? General?settings. Here’s a?screenshot of the setting?for your reference. If you did not intend to enable this feature, you can easily disable it, and your entries will no longer be backed up.

Enabling the Lite Connect option will back up the entries submitted through your forms for the future. This means that if you decide to upgrade to WPForms paid subscriptions, you can restore your entries and have instant access to reports.

    Using Email notification feature:
For the users who prefer to stick with the free version, it is recommended that they leverage the Email notification feature so that entries can be managed via email. Please know that you should be able to set up form notification emails in WPForms Lite so that you will receive the entries submitted by your users. Here’s the tutorial with all the details. With WPForms Lite, you’re able to set up one notification email — however, you can send this one notification to as many different email addresses as you’d like.
For additional support with email delivery issues or general use of WPForms Lite, please feel free to post in our WPForms Lite support forum.

We hope this information is helpful, and we are here to assist you further if needed. Thank you for your continued engagement with WPForms.

I hope you’ll consider giving us another chance. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Hi @thewarriorpoet ,

Thank you for your continued feedback and for allowing us to address your concerns.

    Merged Fields in Email Notification:
The fields in the notification should not be merged and this can be adjusted by notification settings. Can you share a screenshot of the merged fields that you are receiving in the email notification? Can you confirm if this issue started happening after you made any changes to your website like adding new plugin or theme?

In case this helps, you can configure the “Email Message” section under Settings ? Notifications. If you are using the {all_fields} shortcode in your notification settings, that would include all the fields on your form in the notification.

In order to edit this default message and include the specific form fields in form, you could manually reformat the message body. You could do this by building out the notification content in a more?customized way using regular text, HTML, and Smart Tags. In case it helps, here’s a couple of screenshots of an example:
    – Message Setup:?https://a.supportally.com/i/8cYyFy
    – Email Received:?https://a.supportally.com/ywFhFb

    Entry Backup:
This feature is optional and only activates if you choose to enable it under WPForms ? Settings ? General settings. You have full control over whether this feature is used. It’s important to note that WPForms Lite remains a free plugin, and the core functionality—including form creation and email notifications—continues to serve users without any required payment. This feature doesn’t affect the email notifications.
WPForms Lite plugin was not collecting entries before. The Lite Connect feature, introduced recently, is intended to offer the option to recover past entries by backing up form entries if user choose to store it from their end.

If you need any more clarification or assistance with anything, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
    Kind regards,

    Hi @thewarriorpoet,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration you have experienced. Let me provide some clarity regarding the Lite Connect (entry backup) feature in WPForms Lite and our paid subscriptions.

The Lite Connect feature is designed to back up your form entries for future access. If you ever decide to upgrade to WPForms paid subscriptions, you’ll be able to restore your entries that were backed up after enabling this feature.

However, this feature is not enabled by default. It only activates if you enable the “Enable Entry Backups” option under WPForms ? Settings ? General settings. Here’s a?screenshot of the setting?for your reference. If you did not intend to enable this feature, you can easily disable it, and your entries will no longer be backed up.

WPForms Lite remains a free plugin, and you can set up email notifications for each form submission to receive all submitted entries directly to your email inbox. I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with receiving form entries through email notifications. Could you please provide more details about the problem? This information will help us understand and resolve the issue more effectively.

We encourage you to reach out to our WPForms support forum where our team can provide more personalized assistance. We’re committed to helping you get the most out of WPForms and addressing any concerns you may have.

We genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this matter. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve, please feel free to share. We’re always open to feedback and are continuously striving to enhance our services.

I hope you’ll consider giving us another chance. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Hi @amus1112 ,

I’m sorry that our Lite version doesn’t seem to fit your needs for now. Our team has worked hard to make sure that our free version includes everything needed to create a basic contact form.

We would like to investigate the conflict you encountered with Ublock origin. I tried to troubleshoot the issue at our end by using WPForms Lite plugin with chrome extension. However, didn’t face issues while testing.

Could you please provide more details about the error message or any specific steps that caused the issue? This information will help us better understand and resolve the problem. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our?WPForms support forum. Our team is here to help you get the most out of WPForms.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter. If there are any other features that you’d like to see in the Lite version of WPForms, please let me know and I’ll be sure to share it with our team and/or share documentation/workarounds. We are always looking for ways to make form plugins simple and effective.

I hope you will give us another try soon. We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi @esiteq,

Thank you for providing feedback regarding your experience with WPForms Lite, but I’m sorry to hear that you found the Lite version lacking in features.

The Lite version of WPForms is primarily designed to include standard features for creating, customizing and submitting forms. As of WPForms Lite version 1.8.8.2 both the Multi-Column Form?and Custom Form Templates?features have been added to the list of standard features. In case it helps, we have a handy step-by-step guide and instructional video?here?that covers setting up a Multi-Column Form and we have a dedicated guide?here?that covers the process of setting up Custom Form Templates.

I hope those guides are helpful, but if you’re unsure about any step mentioned in them, please feel free to let me know, I’d be more than happy to explain more.

As for the?Phone field, while it is a Pro feature, as a workaround, I would suggest using the?Single Line Text field. It can be used to collect phone numbers by leveraging our input masks feature which gives the?appearance of a Phone field. We have another handy guide that delves into this feature?here.

In case it helps, here is a phone number input mask that you could test in your WPForms right now:
    +1 (999)-999-9999

If there are any other features that you’d like to see in the Lite version of WPForms, please let me know and I’ll be sure to share it with our team and/or share documentation/workarounds. We are always looking for ways to make form plugins simple and effective.

I hope you will give us another try soon and If you have any further questions or need assistance with WPForms Lite, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or create a new support thread here.

    Hi @kuuipo2006,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I apologise for the confusion. Please allow me to share more details on anti-spam features with WPForms Lite and WPForms paid subscriptions.

First, we have a built-in anti-spam protection feature which is enabled by default (https://a.supportally.com/i/2OBjqI). This does not require any additional setup. When enabled in the form, it works in the background to protect your forms against spam. For more details about the anti-spam protection feature, please see our tutorial here: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-prevent-spam-in-wpforms/#anti-spam

With paid subscription, you can get access to some paid feature to prevent spam:

Custom Captcha addon: If you’d prefer to choose the question(s) your visitors must answer, the Custom Captcha is a good option. This addon is available with all of our paid licenses including WPForms Basic, and you can find all the details here: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-install-and-use-custom-captcha-addon-in-wpforms/
You will not need WPForms Pro subscription to use this addon.
In case this helps, you can compare the features available with each subscription here: https://wpforms.com/pricing/#pricing-table-comparison

Country restrictions filter: This is an effective option if you’d like to allow or deny form submissions from specific countries. We have a detailed guide for settings this up: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-prevent-spam-in-wpforms/#country-filter

Keyword restrictions filter: Same as above you can toggle this option to effectively block any form submissions that contain specific keywords. We have a detailed guide for settings this up: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-prevent-spam-in-wpforms/#keyword-filter

However, there are also other spam prevention options in WPForms that you can use for free without upgrade:

    1. Google’s free reCAPTCHA service: This is a very popular option with built-in integration. Our integration includes 3 versions you can choose between: a traditional checkbox, “invisible”, and v3. You can find details on all of these in our tutorial: https://wpforms.com/docs/setup-captcha-wpforms/
    2. hCaptcha: This is a good option if you’d prefer not to sign up for Google’s reCAPTCHA service. Within your forms, hCaptcha will display a checkbox asking users to prove they’re human (much like Google’s v2 Checkbox reCAPTCHA). We have a detailed guide for setting up hCaptcha here: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-set-up-and-use-hcaptcha-in-wpforms/
    3. CloudFlare Turnstile: If you are interested in a privacy focussed invisible alternative that automatically chooses non-intrusive browser challenges based on client behavior, this option is for you. Please take a look at the following detailed guide for more details: https://wpforms.com/docs/setting-up-cloudflare-turnstile/
    4. Akismet Anti-Spam Protection: Akismet is one of the top anti-spam protection plugins on www.ads-software.com. If you have this plugin set up on your site, you can easily integrate it into your forms. Please see this guide on how to set up Akismet and enableit to your forms: https://wpforms.com/docs/setting-up-akismet-anti-spam-protection/
    5. Block or allow specific email addresses: Using our Allowlist/Denylist feature, you can restrict or allow specific email addresses that can be used to submit your forms. We have a detailed tutorial for setting this up: https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-create-an-allowlist-denylist-for-email-addresses-in-wpforms/

I trust that I have cleared up any uncertainties you may have had. Could you please let me know if you have any questions?

      Thanks!
