I like this theme as it suit hotel and resort.

The sliders are not a plugin. It is with white portfolio theme option. I did not remove anything.

I tried twenty eleven on my localhost. There is no slides displayed. In my localhost the slides are displaying with the white portfolio theme. The problem is when it is uploaded. You can see the site now with twenty eleven theme.

The theme is working for others. I checked their site. I have all my plugins deactivated. I tried twenty eleven theme, the slides won’t work. The character encoding is set to utf8. Thank for your reply. Any help is appreciated.

Header2.php siderbar2.php footer2.php and nav2.php are second set of files required to make custom templates (since you want your link pages to look different from each other).
Those are files other than header.php siderbar.php, footer.php and nav.php that you have already made for say home page or index page.
Continue your study on custom templates. I believe, you are on the right track ??

IMHO static page for home page is a good option to proceed, with links to each section there.
Wordpress has options to make custom page theme templates for each page or section. You can design custom css for those pages and link to it. Just make header2.php siderbar2.php and footer2.php nav2.php whichever you want customized and <?php get_ them; ?> in page2.php.

Thrash those pages from Dashboard > All Pages. logout and relogin.
Also check CHMOD permissions. Check with your service provider if the permissions for all files are 644. You can also change to 644.

If you had altered the permalink custom value, change it back to earlier value and see.

The .htaccess file is causing error. If you had changed the permalink to /index.php/%postname%/ it will give error. Since you can’t find the .htaccess file make a new file .htaccess

In my opinion, a single site with CV | Portfolio of work | Sequential log
as links with customized theme for respective links would suffice.
It all depends on the content size. If the size is huge then multisite is a better option as former option will be bit confusing with all posts, pages and images assignment.

You can adjust the line-height 1.5em to suit your need. It is better to keep in em as it scales well in different monitor resolution.

Your website has wonderful articles. It is very content rich and, IMHO very intense.
About website aesthetics:
1) Give a relevant header (with image or artwork, something to make visitors think and imagine)
2) Give a darker body background, just subtle enough to give emphasis to body content
3) Align and set menubar background horizontal width to match the body content text start and sidebar width end
3) Increase line-spacing in articles
4) Bold words or sentence in article only if it is absolutely important. Bold it with grey or any lighter color if necessary
5) Increase vertical space between links on sidebar. It will help give emphasis to each link
6) Center footer links and copyright info
