thanks for the info, i appreciate it, it seems like you can… however it says change the software or use pieces of it in free programs…..

When we speak of free software, we are referring to freedom, not
price. Our General Public Licenses are designed to make sure that you
have the freedom to distribute copies of free software (and charge for
them if you wish), that you receive source code or can get it if you
want it, that you can change the software or use pieces of it in new
free programs, and that you know you can do these things.

im not 100% sure…. its seems its likely ok to ‘pinch’ bits of code…

the other options i was thinking about is there a way to also display the genuine Woo table on another separate menu? i basically need the menu to appear on the main admin menu all by itself(not submenu), im going to add a new column to the main Woo menu for additional info from my own plugin anyway….

thanks but that’s the official explanation as i noted, however this guide falls short in explaining the exact specific ‘id’ this is required, it says ‘slug name’? what slug name? what for? there is also differences with opinions on other sites, does anyone know? should it match the html id attribute? are their any other considerations as to what this ‘id’ may do or not do? can it collide with other plugin’s if not registered correctly and uniquely?

Thanks for your reply, yes i was reading about wp list tables, however it was recommended to avoid them for plugin development, however i think their may be a workaround to avoid a future wp update making them redundant, and that is to copy the actual file and include it within the plugin package…

    thanks again…

thanks again for such a thorough exploration of this issue, yes i think it may be important due to store dispatch cut-off times for next day delivery as it will form part of the new plugin, but you have given me some good tips and ideas how to tack this…

    thanks again….

Thanks very much for the advice, its great to connect with experienced developers………and yes it seems like there is no easy formal solution, i’m from the uk so it’s simple and straightforward if the plugin was being used in the uk, it would use greenwich mean time, this would then make the date of delivery selected and time slots accurate(end user/customer selected), but what happens if this plugin is used outside the uk? would i create an option in settings for the admin to select the time according to where they are based? so then i’m presuming that the end user/customer will then place an order relevant to this set time? im sure im missing something here somewhere…. grabbing the date from a computer like you say has pitfalls….. thanks again, maybe i will need to research it more then design a better solution……..

Hi Tyler, and thanks for answering my post so quickly, i’m glad you have clarified the standards expected i intend to pay a lot of attention to that now, iv just quickly skimmed back over the standards, i’m going to print them off and study them alongside the books im reading, i realise the javascript, html and css standards really make sense, however with some of the php stuff is going over my head and i know i’m trying to run before walking here, it’s only been a few weeks on php so i’m hoping i can get to grips and feel confident with it soon, iv already wrote the main javascript core of the plugin for the front end stuff, i’d love some feedback on my php code when i get going and hope to contribute to the forums eventually, thanks again….
