Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Updated Themes New ThemeXeroCool, I saw the post yesterday after I posted this. And with all due respect, thank you – but I would like to announce my own themes when I’m ready to.
It’s nice that you take the time to announce themes for theme authors, but some of us do have reasons for not posting new themes in this forum as soon as they are released. They will get here eventually, but it’s nice to know that when I do get around to posting a new theme it won’t be a duplicate thread. ??

In reply to: Updated Themes New ThemeThanks all. To be honest, I don’t know how to add a theme to the list.
Heh, and no worries for not adding Head to the list. Judging by the comments on Alex’s site, no one liked it anyway! ??

In reply to: What’s the best webhost for wordpressYou could check out Blogs-About hosting
And since WP is their preferred blogging platform, they also provide ongoing support for WP.
I actually left host-for-web a couple of years back. Had lots of uptime and mysql problems. Of course, the next host I had wasn’t great either.
But I’ve always heard good things about Rochen, and I’ve been with them for a few months now, and can’t say I have any complaints. When they setup a new server, there were some issues with the way PHP and mail() was configured, but I posted on their forums, and it was resolved in a day. So, I’m a happy camper. ??

In reply to: How do I get archives.php working?You have to create a new “page”. In the advanced edit mode, you’ll have the option to choose the archives page template.

In reply to: Second Post…. Comments not workingIf your current theme came from 1.2, and you getting other files from 1.5, you’re probably missing the header.php and footer.php. The 1.5 single.php pulls the header and footer from separate files, whereas the old kubrick was just one index.php file.
You’ll either have to edit the 1.5 kubrick header and footer files, or create your own header.php and footer.php from your (old) 1.2->1.5 index.php
OR…remove
<?php get_header(); ?>
and<?php get_footer(); ?>
from the single.php and add your header and footer code in their respective places.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Spellcheck ErrorI had problems with the spell check plugin at first. In the options menu, the language was defaulted to
en_US
, which was causing the error. When I changed that to justen
it worked.Also, don’t forget to chmod the spell-plugin directory to 777. Otherwise, it won’t be able to create the aspell.personal and error_log files.

In reply to: Second Post…. Comments not workingUnless you deleted some of the files, kubrick does come with a single.php and your site is using the single.php file because your individual post pages are different from your index page.
It will be in: /wp-content/themes/{theme_name}/single.php
Add the code I posted above just above the “endwhile” statement.

In reply to: Truncated Posts… How do I?The transition from Safari to Camino is a little easier than Firefox. Especially when it comes to exporting/importing bookmarks.
Although, Camino doesn’t have all the “extras” that firefox has. ?? There’s actually a plugin somewhere that gives extra preferences for Camino…can’t think of where or what it is right now, though.
