Unfortunately we don’t have much insight into how GoDaddy provides plugin update support without the dashboard. But it appears GoDaddy has a help page with some more information:

If you still are unable to upgrade, I’d recommend reaching out to GoDaddy support to see how they recommend updating.

Unfortunately this isn’t something that can be changed in the Akismet plugin. Those tags are actually rendered by the core WordPress platform. There’s some discussion on that here:

And there’s a ticket with a patch available here:

It appears the patch may be included in WordPress version 5.0.
