Additional info: It seems that the home page is the only one not redirecting correctly. All the other pages work ok.
The other pages are accessed using siteurl/pagename but it tries to access the home page using siteurl.trendata.net/.
The one site that is working correctly, blogbythemoon.com, I can see the redirect to the siteurl occur when the home page is accessed. The question is, where does this redirect occur in the multisite system?
Well, I thought this problem was fixed but after updating WP to 4.5.2 it is back. In the mean time I moved the catalley.org site to a single WP site and it works fine, but now 2 of the 4 sites left in multisite are getting the redirect error as before. All the sites are subdomains of trendata.net.
I updated WP first then did the available plugin and theme updates. Someone on this forum indicated the plugin and theme updates should be done first. Maybe that messed up my DB.
There are no redirects in the cpanel ‘www redirects’.
The broken sites are chinchillarescuega.com and reneetrenholm.com and they were working before the updates. blogbythemoon.com works ok and I can’t see any difference from the other two sites unless the problem may be in the database – I am not very good with phpmyadmin.

In reply to: [Fast Secure Contact Form] Migration from WP multisite – no formsI found the version, 4.0.39. It is shown in the si-contact-form.php file from the site backup.
I will try if I can figure it out. My OS is linux mint so I assume I use Xampp. Neither Wamp or Xampp are in the linux repository. By export the settings do you mean do a FSCF backup in the tools menu?

In reply to: [Fast Secure Contact Form] Migration from WP multisite – no formsIt should have been 4.0.xx because I kept it up to date, but I can’t tell for sure now unless there is somewhere in the site backup data that tells.

In reply to: [Fast Secure Contact Form] Migration from WP multisite – no formsYes, I installed all the plugins fresh since I didn’t want all of them from the old site. This may be what caused the problem since the fresh plugin didn’t know about the forms from the old site.
This may be a hint. the new plugin initially showed all the names of the forms from the previous site but when I tried to open a form the name changed to “New Form”.
Thanks for your assistance.
I checked your suggestions: The database options table is pointing to catalley.trendata.net. The SEO plugin is deactivated. I used shift reload to refresh the page (I am using Firefox on Linux Mint 17.3).I tried comparing with the one site that is working but can’t find any difference in the settings. I think this problem appeared when WP was updated to 4.4 or 4.4.1 in late Dec.
Here are the first two items on the Firebug Net Tab expanded. The rest are the same indicating “301 Moved Permanently”. The fact that there are two entries repeated many times seems to be significant. They are “Get catalley.org” and “Get catalley.trendata.net”. The site that works does not do this. It only has “Get blogbythemoon.com”.

A screen shot would be easier to read but I don’t know how to post it. I have one in a .png format.
Tried replacing the .htaccess with the default one. No change.
The WPMS has always been trendata.net Keep in mind that all these sites were working a month ago and one of them (blogbythemoon.com) and the main (trendata.net) still work.
Here is the Firebug for the site that does work:

Thanks for your response.
trendata.net is the multisite domain name. I also noticed the entry for chinchillarescuega and I don’t know where that came from but that site was working before this happened.I installed Firebug and this is what it shows me:

BTW: How do I post a screen shot or put code in a gray scrollable box in this forum?
I found the problem. The site ID was incorrect under Network Admin, settings, domains. This site gave me the clue: https://wpengine.com/support/multisite-how-to-add-new-sites/

In reply to: Test subdomain displays main siteAndrea: If OP means old person you got it right.
If I understand it correctly the subdomain goes to the root because of the wildcard DNS but the index.php sends it to the correct virtual domain in the database. I know that is over simplified but I am new at this. My original problem was because I had the old index.html in the public_html folder and it was executing instead of index.php; according to Sam, and that seems to be correct since I renamed the index.html and the subdomains function correctly. Is my thinking in left field or nearly correct?

In reply to: Test subdomain displays main siteThanks, Sam. That works but how do I keep the old site working until the WordPress is done? I guess I should have put the old site in a different directory. Or is there a better way?
