Thanks esmi, I have tried all that you suggest but am still at square one. No plugins,themes or pages items on the dashboard menu. I cannot update my site at all. Where there used to be an “edit” button on my pages they are not there any longer. The problem is not visible on the site but on the admin pages.

Since I cannot access the plugins page or the theme page or the pages page. It’s difficult to do anything. I will try resetting by FTP and let you know.
