yup. it has begun. my web site as of february 25th 2012 has been mega spammed to the point where my hosting provider suspended my web site because the database got too large from all the spam in a course of one day. and even though i deleted them all and checked my si captcha settings, when i woke up this morning i had 6 more spam comments in my spam inbox.

i am having the same problem; i am getting spam anyway depsite having si captcha installed. its annoying to keep having to go in and delete the spam and even more annoying to see that this plugin is no longer working or rather its working but bots or whatever have found away around it to spam my site with random comments. of course the comments never get posted because i moderate but i have to go in and delete the spam daily. my free hosting provider alerted me of it by suspending my web site until i took care of it. i was amazed to find over 300+ spam comments post all submitted in a day’s time that i had to go in and delete. i had si captcha enabled on login, comments and posts and i thought i had it all handled. but then it happened again and i had to move my website to a paid host because of the spam; my free hosting provider says because of all the spamming, the database got too large for its servers. is there any fix to this or do i need to just find another plugin that works?

Yes. it is the .featured panel that stopped working. I will contact the developer of the theme. I notice that this usually happens when theres any plugin I download to WP that involves graphics. Thanks for the quick reply.

may have something to do with twitter; they just changed their web site not too long ago. my wp to twitter is working fine but there was an update to it that went out a few days ago. without the update wp to twitter stopped working until i updated it. make sure ur running 2.2.3 version or it wont work.

i installed it, entered my fb email and password, saved it, clicked “test” and it shows me a big empty frame where i’m assuming thats where the imported comments are suppose to be. when i click “manual update” it says its completed and to check my comments tab for pending comments. i check my comments tab but theres nothing pending. this addon doesnt appear to be working. at least not for me.

mine isnt either. most likely has something to do with fb recently no longer allowing import of rss feeds anymore which may have also affected exporting of notes as well. bummer. i need something to import my fb comments into my wordpress blog ??

    doh! >.<
it was right there in front of my face. i’m usually good about looking around before asking questions. guess this one got by me.
    thanks

You will get this error if you do not configure your “Basic Settings”. When initially installing this plugin, it leaves the default URL shortener to Cli.gs as the URL shortener whether you use Cli or not. Open “Basic Settings”, go to the bottom drop down menu where it says “Choose your short URL service (account settings below)”. Change it to whatever URL service you are actually using or don’t shorten URLs.

This error drove me nuts for an hour until I ran into that drop down and selected Bit.ly, which is what I’m using. Now the error is gone. Maybe if there’s a way to either put some kind of warning that tells that in the plugin or make that drop down select your URL shortener service automatically once it’s set in “URL Shortener Account Settings”.

P.S. and yes Twitterfeed blows … unless you don’t mind your posts showing up a month later. Of course I’m over exaggerating but when using Twitterfeed, my posts would show up a whole 24 hours later at least. And all support says is they’re working on it … well its been like that for months. I stopped using it long time ago.
