Does anyone know how to hide the categories option from users?

I’d like this too, if anyone knows an answer!

I have a bunch of files that I’d like to upload as posts.

Alternately, can I somehow put them on an excel spreadsheet and then upload that?

but how could i get them to work with each other?

basically i’m trying to create a database of articles about members of congress and senate, and other government officials. each official’s name would be a category. therefore there would be thousands of categories!

the reason: i’d like to be able for people to go to:

mysite.com/john-doe

and see all articles pertaining to that person….

and that’s the only way i could think of to do it! is there a better way?

I have tried the code posted by anti-fuse, as well as a plugin that is supposed to display recent comments.

they both display the comments as described, except when you click on the link to go to the article, they ALL lead to the same article! i have no idea why, i simply am copying and pasting the code onto the page!

is this problem common, am i doing something wrong?
