In reply to: WordPress Failed To Import MediaI, too, found that blog vault was too expensive. I also have the option of asking the wordpress dot com people to do it for me for a very high price. This is very frustrating.

In reply to: WordPress Failed To Import MediaI can’t do that. There’s no directory because I am migrating from a wordpress dot com site. I can’t access the files if it’s from dot com. I can export using the export tool, which I have tried multiple times. i have the images in my media content in the new site finally, but most images are not attached to posts as they were in the old site.
I want to ask where do I change the site name? In the filename? or within the xml file?

In reply to: Export and Import WordPress Media, Posts and PagesIt looks like the smaller mb images showed up in their proper places but the larger ones did not transfer properly. Can someone please give very easy-to-follow instructions as to how to fix this. Nothing too techy please.

In reply to: Export and Import WordPress Media, Posts and PagesI’ve imported all my images, which were almost all attached. All came through as unattached. How can I get that many images properly attached without painstaking work manually (which would take hundreds of hours)?
Thank you.

In reply to: Unattached images – WHY??I have twelve pages of images now moved, however, they all came through as unattached. How do I attach every single one of them (as they were before) without doing a massive job manually? Can this be done more easily than going through 12 years of posts (probably 3,000) and finding each image and attaching? I’d have to hire someone willing to spend many hours doing this. There must be a better way!
Unfortunately, I can’t use it. I’ve got WP 2.5.1, not 2.6, and I’m wary of upgrading.

In reply to: [Plugin: User Photo] Can we make this work, PLEASE!!!!Never mind, it turns out the little piece of script recommended earlier worked and all the gals are posting with photos. It just wasn’t working with my own photo. I had to delete my own photo and add it again. Incidentally, I replaced the photo of myself with one of my dog, for good luck. ??

In reply to: Different tiers of usersThanks so much! So if I want everyone to be able to write and post and nothing else, I’d make them Authors, not editors, right? That way their posts will go up on the site so they can respond to each other?
