Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Question on multiple posts in separate categoriesI don’t know if this fits into esl2424’s initial query, but I too wanted to have two separate post categories on my website. I am using WordPress with the TwentyTen theme and found this workaround helpful to me to do so:
https://www.zeroatoms.com/create-a-second-blog-in-wordpress-how-to/comment-page-1/#comment-4531 the solution was just what I wanted, a place to run a separate blog on my site. I was running WP 3.0.1 when I did it and just a couple of days ago, I upgraded to WP 3.1.2 and now the posts in my second blog are also showing up on my main blog page as well. I’ve written to the fellow at zeroatoms.com for further assistance on this but have yet to get a reply. Perhaps he is working on a solution now. But in the meantime, I thought I’d wade through the WP forums for some help and came upon this thread. Does anyone here have a possible answer? I am a newbie when it comes to PHP and WP, so am trying to get my feet wet. Thanks.my error, using rev 3.0.2
column width is set to 640 pixels, with height the same. I have noticed that sometimes it takes awhile for the photos to load, but once they do, it seems to run alright.
I can live without the filmstrip navigator. I just re-contacted you after trying your original suggestion, so that you might be able to use the information to work out any possible bugs.
I am using rev 3.0.1
have just enabled filmstrip function now
hi, opajaap, sorry for the delay in replying on this post. as I said, I’m not really programming savvy and am new to the whole WordPress experience and my computer friend has been away. But I finally got brave enough to poke around my control panels and found the place to edit my wp-config.php file; added the memory limit line as you suggested and changed the DEBUG line to ‘true’. But it changed nothing. When I checked the error messages, there was none from WP Photo Album Plus at all.
I did find, however, that if I unchecked the ‘filmstrip navigator’ check box in the application’s settings, it allowed the slideshow in the first album to play straightaway. I now have three albums on the site, and they all will play, seemingly now without problems, in either the slideshow mode or just viewing individual photos manually.
thanks, opajaap, I will try to get my computer-savvy helper to check out this possibility a bit later on. I am not computer-literate enough to do it myself, so he will try to effect this remedy soon when he is freed up from a project he is on.
I will let you know how it goes. Thank you.
sorry, opajaap, what do you mean by a timeout?
opajaap, sorry thought I did so in my first message. it is:
I’ve also just discovered on the album that doesn’t play the slideshow when you click on the link, that when I view the thumbnails and then left click on a photo, the slideshow bar will appear and then I can run the slideshow. On the album that works, the slideshow will begin by itself when one clicks on the slideshow link.
