Just want to come back here to let you know, it is definitely a Kirki plugin issue. Others have stated the same thing on the support site.

Thank you again for all your help here ??

I have similar issues too! All my headers were bolded. Then a few days later, the text was all bolded as well.

I downloaded Kirki a long time ago. At some point I had to deactivate it because it was giving me a display issue?! Then when I try to activate it now, it doesn’t let me.

All the font issues I had happened when Kirki plugin was not activated. Which is why I didn’t think it was a Kirki issue but something else. But then I found this thread…

Thank you for your observation. I’ll follow up with the team at Kirki. I suspect something is weird with the Kirki plugin since it wasn’t letting me activate.

I stayed with all the default fonts for my current theme. I tried to change as little as possible hoping that it won’t break my site lol. But I agree with you and thank you for the advice.

    Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I was using Autoptimize plugin when the problem occurred. I also realized I had Siteground Optimizer and a Jetpack Boost plugin. (Not sure if it was changing site over something but I see plugins that I didn’t think I downloaded).

Could having multiple optimising plugins cause a conflict and changed the site permanently? Sorry if I’m asking dumb questions but I’m not technical and I’ve been searching for answers for awhile and nothing came up. So how I can only narrow it down to fonts not embedding correctly.

Oh I have one other bit of information, not sure if it’s relevant.

When I first install Sitka Solo Pine theme, I had to download Kirki Customiser Framework plugin. The plugin affected something else on the website so I disabled it to fix the problem, but my fonts remained the same.

I still have the Kirki Customiser Framework plugin but it is disabled. But what is interesting is that when I click activate, the page refreshed and it didn’t actually activate. But at the top it says:

New!?Easily resolve font display issues by clearing the?Font Cache?in Kirki. This one-click solution fixes problems caused by domain name changes or site migrations.

And a button below that says “learn more” and it says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” on a refreshed page.

I had no idea I was integrating fonts. I’ve been using Autoptimize plugin for a while and haven’t had any issues and also didn’t change any settings recently.

I definitely did not write any code – I have no knowledge of coding.

I will contact the support of the plugin and see if they can help. Hopefully I can give you an update on that.

    Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

You think this is affected by Autoptimize plugin? I disabled it and manually purged the cache and I still have the same font issue.

How do I check “whether the URLs for the fonts are correct”? Sorry if this is a simple questions but I’m not familiar with website design/coding/etc.
