In reply to: Can't edit WordPress settings, when certain theme is activated?Sorry, very busy at mo and this only comes through to my laptop…
I’ll have a proper look at the weekend, however a quick Google and it looks like that warning can be ignored, its a mismatch in your server certificates or “httpd.conf”. This shouldn’t be an issue for a theme, that said, if its somehow redirecting then the links in WordPress may be different and what is causing the problem.
I believe that warning may be a host issue (if you haven’t played with https, certs, etc) concerning HTTPD (Apache), this was the best I found on this quick search:
https://www.entrust.net/knowledge-base/technote.cfm?tn=6559I’m no expert with WP, but am intending to make my own theme, so will be glad to look into it to help bring me up to speed with possible issues…
*** I changed some things the other day in a theme and wasn’t able to access the dashboard either, deleting the theme directory and revisiting the dashboard put things back to normal. This’ll hopefully allow you to keep on managing your site, but just without the new theme…

Filesystems are not all the same! (esp. Windows, it really isn’t POSIX)
When copying files across, dependently, file permissions may or may not be preserved or even be right.
Since you are unaware of chmod and chown (command line programs on Linux / Unix systems), the easier way is to use your favourite FTP Client.
In the FTP Client connect to your troublesome site, look at some files which were installed and you’ve not amended, see who owns it, the groups its linked to and the read / write permissions. Then see how they differ from the transferred files. Then amend appropriately.
Owner, Groups, Permissions.

In reply to: Drop Down MenusLOL, the main default menu doesn’t show! I can reorder the menus I add, but when set them to primary then the drop down doesn’t work… HMMMM it seems to recognise the sub-menu now…
OK many thanks, seems to be working now… (see Games menu)
* But how to order the default menu?

In reply to: Can't edit WordPress settings, when certain theme is activated? If it works on one, but when you transfer it to another site, my question would be about file ownership and permissions, use a shell to amend using chown and chmod…

The order should be Home, Games, Gallery, then Contact
Cheers

In reply to: Drop Down MenusOK, so i’ve made a new menu, set it be used. The order is right but no sub-menus will dropdown.
However if I switch back to the default menu (“” blankly named in this case), this menu has drop down sub-menus (like the “Get Involved” menu above!).
NB: I can’t see where / how to edit the default menu… The order I added the pages were not in menu order and can’t see how to rearrange the (actually I did put them in in the right order but it’s still generating them maybe alphabetically with Home first)

In reply to: Inline page formattingIt’s default wordpress CSS, don’t you understand that?
Thought i’d give wordpress a go, back to Drupal…

In reply to: Inline page formattingI’ve pointed out exactly where the issue is, what it involves, i.e. i’ve overidden the style at the lowest level.
Yet something is still snagging it, thought i’d try here, but obviously not…
Thought it’d be simple for the wordpress guru’s obviously not…
