In reply to: Need Help Finding New PluginBackWPUP was one of the ones I tested and that failed. The issue had with it is more tne 50% of the time, the downloads form that plugin would fail to download, but not give any error messages warning me the download had failed, just quietly leave a 0bite file sitting in my folder. Up until that point it had looked very promising, and if they could get that issue fixed up I’d be willing to consider it.

In reply to: Need Help Finding New PluginIf I were the always managing the sites and not building and managing many for clients and I was always the one who was going to be managing the sites myself, then maybe. But I’m often turning them over to a client to manage who don’t know squat about managing server side scripts and that means they’ll effectively have no backup management.
So the plugins are a major convenience for both turning sites over to non-coders and being able to have someone else manage the required updates every time there’s a major change to WordPress or a security fix is needed. So in short, I do need effective plugins to make this service manageable.

Thanks for your prompt response.
I have an idea too of what may have been going on. I realized, after I posted this, but near the end of day, that the reply to email address which I filled in when submitting the form was the same email as I was sending from. Forgot in one step of my test that the testing email I was using was forwarding to the same email address I’d entered in the “Email” field on the live form.
I’m scheduled to do more routine maintenance work on that client’s website this Wednesday and I can run a few more tests then to see what conditions reproduce this issue.
For now, the client has verified their receiving emails form WP Forms and their reply in my last test did return to me properly.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Error When Submitting FormsYou are right, I’ve been dealing with this issue on about a dozen sites I manage, with clients losing an unknown amount of money, myself included, due to emails not being sent for over a month and seeing no communication other then the same questions over and over in the forums, and my frustration just boiled over, finally. I’ve been under pressure from my clients to get their contact forms fixed and not seeing anything happen nor any sign of any bug fixes in sight.
I do apologize for that.
At any rate, I have run every test and change I can from my end and get no change, the plugin still fails to perform it’s basic functionality, which means it is absolutely a bug in the code of an update pushed out in either late July or early August, as that’s when my clients first started reporting this problem.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Error When Submitting FormsUpdate: I hadn’t updated the plugin in a while as I was off work for for the past few weeks, but running a test of the form again right after the update, I’m still seeing the same issue, the form is stuck in an infinite loading screen and the form does not appear to submit. I’m awaiting confirmation from my client whether or not they received the form submission email.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Error When Submitting FormsThe plugins most likely to affect the forms are:
- CF7 Invisible reCAPTCHA
- Login Security reCAPTCHA
- Really Simple SSL
- W3 Total Cache
The theme is Thesis
The same configuration of plugins and theme were all present long before this issue started up.
The other site I’m having this issue with (easycozy.ca) uses a different theme (GrandSpa) but otherwise has a similar mix plugins and is having the same issue, which started up around the same time.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact Form 7 + reCAPTCHA 3.0 not workingI’m having similar issues on 2 different client websites.
On one of them, I tried disabling Recaptcha 3 and the problem persists. The client for one of the websites has reported back from my tests that the form is at lest sometimes submitting, but not outputting the result message like it should, and is instead outputting either nothing at all, or an infinite loading loop icon.
I’m still waiting on more info from my clients but so far it appears to be tracking to the last update (installed on Aug 10 on both websites where I’ve found this problem). It’s likely an issue with CF7 and not related to Recaptcha.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact Form 7 not workingI’m getting similar issues across 2 different websites on 2 different hosts. Based on my testing so far, it seems like the forms may be sending, but CF7 is not properly displaying the output message indicating whether or not it’s sent.
I’ve ruled out other plugins as a likely cause. this issue may have started after the update I installed on both sites where this is an issue on Aug 10. So it’s probably a bug introduced in that update.

In reply to: [Portfolio - WordPress Portfolio Plugin] Better Slug OptionsWordpress default posts allow for the slug to include the category as part of the slug by default.
To see this in action, take a look at this site I built: https://easycozy.ca/blog/ navigate about the blog to the different articles, you’ll see the urls look like this: https://www.companyurl.ca/category-name/article-title
Examples:
https://easycozy.ca/pain-relief/foot-pain/why-does-the-side-of-my-foot-hurt/ – Article category: foot pain – Article title: Why does the side of my foot hurthttps://easycozy.ca/pain-relief/sciatic-pain/how-long-does-sciatica-last/ – Article Category: sciatica pain – Article title: How long does sciatica last
That’s what I’m talking about. The blog articles also use the “single” post type and are in fact the baseline, default single post type that’s the parent to all other single post types, at least that’s what it looks like from my end. Meaning your portfolio post type should be able to inherit this functionality and would most likely do so by default. Unless the www.ads-software.com team did something different and unusual here that I’m not aware of.

In reply to: [Friendly Captcha for WordPress] Deceptive MarketingThe personal use plan is not suitable for most business websites, mainly just for personal blogs, and my main issue is that you don’t say anything in your plugin info on WordPress that it requires an external account for the plugin to work. The expectations your materials here set and what was delivered didn’t match. If you could rewrite your info in the WordPress repository to better match what’s actually delivered with the plugin, I wouldn’t have had a problem with it.

In reply to: ERROR for site owner: Invalid domain for site key reCAPTCHAI recommend asking at the dedicated support forum of that plugin so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.
Which one? I mentioned several DIFFERENT plugins. Which plugin do you suggest I post in, and which specific plugins do you suggest I ignore? Maybe the plugin that’s abandoned and where I will NEVER get an answer perhaps? One of the other plugins that may or may not be the source of the problem?
I’m posting here because there’s multiple plugins, and no way of knowing which specific one is the cause, AND one of them is abandoned and if I post there, that just means nobody will even see my question. So what would you have me do?
As I said, any help in troubleshooting this issue would be much appreciated.
Thanks, I’ll start with the .htaccess solution and test that out next time I work on that site. $140 is a bit of a steep price for a plugin for what I need in this case, especially if the htaccess solution will do. I’ll comment again to let you know how it goes.
Could a moderator please move this back to the general support forums? This is NOT an issue with ONE SPECIFIC plugin, but a general issue with any plugin that sets custom login urls so I really need more generalized WordPress support then for a specific plugin.
I also have the exact same issue with Hide My WP Ghost – Security Plugin as well and at first thought that plugin was the cause, but as I’m having the same issue confirmed with 2 different plugins, it’s NOT a plugin issue, but a WORDPRESS core or server issue.

In reply to: I want to hide landing pages from the menuGreat news!
I’d guess Tempera was generating a menu automatically from all published pages as a default due to the main menu not being set. By doing what you did, it got your menu set as the main menu.
You’re very welcome. Glad it all worked out for you and you can get back to growing your business.

In reply to: I want to hide landing pages from the menuTaking another look at this, see the column of check boxes right at the bottom of the screen in the video? I just noticed you have the “Top Navigation” box ticked, try unchecking that and checking the “Main Menu” box instead, then save your menu and try reloading the site.
EDIT: From what I’m seeing, it looks like the menu you’re editing isn’t even being used. If no menu was set as “Main” it’s possible your theme is just grabbing all published pages and throwing them up there.
Again, how you set your menus will also vary based on your theme, so knowing this will be crucial to troubleshooting this issue.
