I’ll check out your link for my options. But the need to make a generic pull across all pages for a menu style is not clear… my reply to your first answer. In other words (and it seems to say the same on the plugin link) I need this one shortcode to apply to all places it shows without having to list every page I do or dont’ want. This is a huge site and to have to apply to every page a different shortcode would be impractical.

I agree! This is crucial. It’s also confusing as the option to check boxes to show those lists is there, but nothing seems to show in the form once built.

But I may also be missing something.

As long as they check the category associated with the event, which they’d have to do regardless to pull the proper event into a list, they will show up on the page the category links to. This way you don’t add the events individually, they get pulled in.

Have a look at that code and modify it as needed… obviously I didn’t pull the design code out of it…

Clarelauwerys, I built a custom menu, then added that custom menu as a widget. IN the custom menu region the event categories are right there to be drawn from and create and easy menu. I know it’s not perfect, but it does allow a quick link to the category of events you wish to show… it’s really just a work around. Sadly, it doesn’t show the events themselves.

Although I have had a custom widget built to show events. I have added a “featured” checkbox to the event post pages so I can show what I want in a dropdown of events.
