In reply to: [Customizr] Awesome Adaptable ThemeHi Olivia.
Great to see someone else with a paradigm spirit. Mind if we’d start some communication since I, too, try to setup the same theme as an add-on section of my website. Perhaps we can support each other. 2 heads are always better than just one.
Best regards,

In reply to: [SendPress Newsletters] Archive (view in your browser)?Hi there.
Very important points, did you ever get an answer, how did you solve your problem? Thanks
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [NewsPress Lite] CustomizationI’d like to add one more point regarding images.
I noticed they are all in the same size ratio.
A.
Are they cropped after upload, automatically, or uploaded with that same size ratio?
B.
How would they look if they are being uploaded all in different size ratios?
C.
Can the system allocate different thumbnail sizes, depending which thumbnail is being displayed (but that would then again need to be through cropping, too, to avoid image distortion).Sorry if I’m a pain in the neck. Just trying to find out, especially since I am new to WP.
Thanks for your understanding.

In reply to: why going backwards?OH, I should add, when I manually installed it, I unpacked the WP ZIP folder on the server (I have full root access on my VPS servers)

In reply to: why going backwards?using cPanel, at first
manually the second and third time.
I installed hundreds of different software, no problem, so I want to guess and play a little arrogant to say, installing WP shouldn’t be such a different science… ??Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: why going backwards? All done, several times
You may ask, yes, ?? – But, I had the latest version before, same problem, now I reinstalled a complete new version of the archived 3.4.2, just to see if it’s still the same and yes, it is the same.
I did NOT have any problem with my old 2 version! (explained at the very beginning of this post)
Oh, besides all that, I have only ONE plugin installed and that was an SEO plugin… but all the steps you described, I did about 3 times now. I even set up a complete new database, just to make sure there was no caching issue, etc., …
So yes, I run totally dry on any ideas by now ??

In reply to: why going backwards??
“Just select “Your latest posts” in Settings -> Reading.”
I don’t have that option at all (version 3.4.2)
?I have these 4 only;
Blog pages show at most
Syndication feeds show the most recent
For each article in a feed, show
Encoding for pages and feedsSo it would really be good if WP would allow for some “standard” here, and that standard would “work”! Hm?
There is nothing except what I mentioned already, but that doesn’t work!

In reply to: why going backwards?OK, so the Google punch in not true, but –
why does WP work this way anyway? Why can’t WP simply take the Post Page and stick it to the front, (as it pretends to do so by allowing to check the relevant check-box), unless you create the same page again under the “Pages” section …? And besides, then what’s the Post Page suppose to be there for? That just doesn’t sink in with me, sorry!

In reply to: why going backwards?I have nothing against a post having to belong to at least one category.
I have something against the fact, that the POST PAGE needs to be doubled by a “Pages” page, only for the reason so the Post-Page will be shown as the “Post Page” at the Post Front! There is absolutely no logic behind this behavior! That again – apart from not making any sense – only creates duplicated content and duplicated content, as everyone knows (even me) will get Google to punish you!

In reply to: why going backwards?Well, I did a complete new, totally clean install of a 3.4.2 version and it’s still the same!
May I humbly ask again;
1. Editing the “Post-Page”, I checked “Stick this post to the front page”.
2. However, the checkbox “thisisacategory” is checked and thus I uncheck it and save, WP would fall back to some kinda default and “check” the box again, despite me wanting it unchecked.
3. What’s the purpose of a “checkbox” here if it cannot be unchecked?
4. Why allowing to stick a page to the front if WP doesn’t take it to the front and places it under a category?
5. Why do I need to create the same “POST”-page under “pages” again, so it would show as the front page? This is so SO confusing and totally without any sense that my 5 year old son is shaking his head and asks me … “dad, do you need to work with this WP thing?”
His question makes the only sense to me! ??
– – –
So, do I really need to go back to a 2+ version to get the “FRONT PAGE” showing as the “FRONT PAGE” or do I need to wait for the version 3.5.376 update?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: why going backwards?Well, that might be, but
– why would WP then offer an update process in the first place, if it can’t handle it ???
– why not say “your current version can’t be updated?
– how should “I” know if the WP developers don’t know themselves?
– Guess it’s all to do with having fun working with WP?
– I could think of much better fun and fun that would make sense, at least!
??
