ok, if found the reason, it was a missing “/” in the path for the imagerotator.swf…
I have no idea why it worked well for 12 month, and suddenly this missing “/” was so important. Maybe it was the upgrade to WordPress 3.0 that made my wordpress more sensitive…

Ok, I made some progress.
- I removed the WP_SWFOBJECT plugin since I realized swfobject is part of nextgen anyway…
- I movd the script-part into the header
Remaining problems for IE:
- user has press ESCAPE in order to activate the nslideshow !???
- the images are not scaled to the given heigth/Width values.
(Firefox works well all the time, as expected.)
Some News: Now I inserted the swf via the WP_SWFOBJECT plugin, but again: Firefox runs well, IE 7 does not. Any clue please???

As written above: after clicking ESCAPE the slideshow in the page shows up correctly even in IE.
