In reply to: WP2.1 really sucks@otto42
You have no idea what they talk about here, so why don’t you shut stay off your keyboard?I have 10 WP Sites running. 2 were upgraded to 2.1 the rest are still 2.06 …
To start editing it takes me 3 seconds with 2.06 until the cursor is accepting input – in 2.1 it tales 9-10 seconds until that wysiwyg is open and I need code-version of the editor because the editor scambles all special html-tricks you use. It replaces nbsp for a little square … left and right picture text in the middle doesn’t work as before…Waiting each time 7 seconds more to edit just a word if you were were back on your site – see that you have to make a correction … etc. make this 100 times and you have lost 12 Minutes of your life for nothing.
Downgrading may be easy with english language blogs – not so with foreign. The ? und ü and ? etc are all scrambled if you make a “normal” data base backup… and to recover them there’s only one way … read and replace everything…
To make it clear … I love WordPress … I use it as a content management system with most of my domains… I made several changes to it myself … cropped timecomsuming stuff (technoraty which fills your database with rubbish) etc.
… and to sum it up. 2.1 is slower ALTHOUGH I cropped that full dashbord which for no reasin fills the database and consumes time, also !!!Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Your Websites in my DatabasesHmmm .. Sounds good .. but you didn’t tell how .. and I haven’t found a note or button or link to do that.
So, how do I do that? Some minutes later……………………..
Okay … thanks for the hint ??I removed nearly all lines of the file index.php inside the folder wp-admin … the Dashboard is empty now …
Actually I’d like to read wordpress news and see the links they provide … but why do they fill the database? That’s annoying.

In reply to: FireFox works with thisvkaryl, as I wrote several times above, its a Windows Server. And that makes it a bit more comlicated… I found lots of people which could help with Linux based ones.
But none yet who could help configuring IIS without disturbing the “Domains Management Program” which is Plesk 6.5 …
And I don’t want to switch because the Programs up there are Windows Programs…
If you want to help to test the site with a firefox again … I made some changes in IIS … it still works with IE … hopefully now css is recognized okay…

In reply to: FireFox works with thisOkay – my Server Settings – you call it configuration -that’s what I wrote somewhere above as well, but was not sure.
Although after re-reading the discussion here and after a deep thought – actually I should have looked for the error somewhere else.
And I could have tested this, too … I am not only using a server but several webhosters which usualy have configured their servers error free.Btw.: Does anybody know how and where a windows 2003 Server is configured that way, that CSS is not recognised as downloadable file? I remember that when I started it I could not download exe and others than zip and txt from my websites. And I made a global change to allow to download all files…
If I only’d remember where I made the change ??
Excluding CSS could solve this, right?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with this@vkaryl … maybe its not my fault but FireFox’s?
And not I have to change anything but the FireFox Developers?
Why does IE show no Problems?
Maybe because its just the better Browser?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with thisThis was noticed on other sites using other themes, too.
And I made only slight changes (replaced a picture keeping the old name) and changing some colors.
And deleting the comment issues, links, etc..
I am programmer since 25 years – so I think I am able to know how to delete a line in a php file – so that the comments link does not appear.
And anyway – its displayed exact as I wish in IE…Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with thisOkay … the discussion so far convinced me to step back to the original version.
And not only that … also the fact, that the header graphics were not displayed in IE exactly as they were before.
So … I am making it a Question: Is it a minority that reported to me, using Firefox this site is black and/or scrambled or do you experience the same?

In reply to: FireFox works with thisI appreciate that ?? and I thank you.
But I have only one goal … the normal usual Internet User should be able to view my sites … that’s all … and with that trick it seems to work for those who had problems before …
Maybe other reasons add to that … perhaps the settings of my Win 2003 Webserver? I can’t tell … but that’s our solution for the moment ??Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with thisAnd btw – I wanted to change to FireFox 2 month ago … had it one hour … but noticed that I cannot edit my sites and couldn’t view them either…
So I went back to IE – always the better choice as I noticedForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with thismacmanx – I do not need help, okay? That’s why I changed to “No support question”…
I have the link to the 300 themes and have downloaded about 100 to my server to use them as I need them…
And one of the URLs is in a post above – but it doesn’t help you – ‘cos its without the Doctype line and I know that they now work and didn’t before…
That’s all I can say …Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with thismacmanx, that’s what I did – and I picked the best (in my view) to use them … I cannot tell why I only met people that told me they cannot view my sites (without IE) … now they can …

In reply to: FireFox works with thisThat would mean that I have to replace my changed header files again …
no sorry … I do not have the time for that …I don’t know what you guys did that it worked okay … for instance I used the Akhadian Theme and every FF User tells me “nice black letters on black background”
Actually, then scrolling down they find some scrambled text … that’s why we first thought it has to do with the style sheet … then we presumed that the links to the theme folder could not be found by FireFox (old themes work – new themes didn’t)
Anyway … I have to go to work … if you don’t have troubles with it – nice … then you don’t have to change anything…Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with thisAm I clearvoyant? Try it and see … I did not met one FireFox User that could view my sites before …
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: FireFox works with thisYes but it seems that header.php is always quite the same and at least have the same Doctype directive that obviously gets misinterpreted by FireFox.
That’s why FireFox has Problems with nearly all newer WordPress Blogs (with new Theme management) … I have about 20 running and all Themes did not work before.
Anyway – its just a tipp – maybe someone else knows exactly which parameters have to be used so that all Browsers work …
Fact is, without that line you do nothing bad for IE and are better off with FireFox … and what more do you need ??btw. we found it out with validating them … but to have an effect you must then do something … what we did

In reply to: Links which include 2 underscores are not workingThat was a good idea. When I deactivate Textile2 it seems to work. Quick test was successful.
Thanks[Edit]Yes I did that already ??
